I got off the boat and hostel was right accross the road, could not in better location. Also the bus station is straight accross the road so is perfect for a traveller who is getting the buses and boats. Will go back again.

big hostel with pretty basic standard.. kitchen gets messy in the evenings but its all clean and generally good

Great place to stay. Good variety in the types of rooms and the kitchen facilities were fantastic: 5/6 gas cookers, lots of pots and pans and a walk in fridge and lots of room to put your dry food. Nice and quiet aswell. I would highly recommend this hostel.

This is a hostel just for yuppies staying 2 days in the city, there's no way to enjoy staying there. Also there are workers building something huge in front of the room views so everyday 7am you get awaked up because of the astounding noise of the works. I'd never recommend this place to anyone.

Great location but absolutely no atmosphere and sqeaky beds. Kitchen and facilities in need of an update. Wouldn't stay there again...

This place used to be a hotel, and as such the private rooms are quite good. They offer all of the facilities that top quality hostels provide, and we were especially grateful for the 24 hour reception after our flight into Wellington. The bathroom was kind of dirty. Also, the walls were paper thin and noise was heard quite easily - very difficult to sleep.

I expected a twin with single bed not bunkbeds. The window could not be closed. There was some confusion about the billing but this got sorted out. Breakfast was good

I stayed in a 6-bed dorm that was ridiculously small. I stayed in some 4-bed dorms at other hostels that were bigger than this room. We were sandwiched in like sardines. Def recommend getting a private room or smaller dorm room if they are offered. Good thing was at least we had a...
