Decided to do the bungy jump trilogy where I first jumped of the Kawarau Bridge (the smallest) then Ben Nevis (which is 134 metres, basically a cable car hanging in between 2 large mountains!) and then on the Ledge in Queenstown itself. That has to have been the scariest, purely cos it was nighttime so pitch black and I was left hanging for 5 minutes 400 metres above Queenstown cos the rope got stuck! Not too much fun!! All experience in the end. There is lots more to do in Queenstown, my friend went skiing as she had no interest in bungy jumping! The nightlife there is fantastic too. Not to be missed!close

It is unbelievably beautiful, totally hedonistic and completely amazing. The food is good (especially Tandoori House Indian- it does the best garlic naan ever) and the bars are great. Dance in winnies as the roof comes back and check out th view in Pog Mahones. Enjoy kids!!close

Queesntown is great - there's heaps to do - bungy, sky diving, jet boating, skiing (really good - choice of ski areas), great scenery, walking, mountain biking, lots of restaurants/bars - if partying is your thing after a day of adrenaline rushes, then this is the place for you. It's also got a cinema and spa type places if you're after more R&R.close

the staff were very unfriendly. being a 20something year old stuck in with a bunch of immature teenagers is never good. there was no room for my bags in the room, stuff was thrown everywhere, just a mess. don't stay here, however all hostels in queenstown are similar unfortunately.

Top Rated Queenstown Restaurants

  1. Winnies Pizza100%

We eat in this place 3 times in one week. You have to try the seafood gourmet pizza. It's so tasty. Get there early if you don't want to queue. Watch out for the opening roof

Top Rated Queenstown Attractions

  1. AJ Hackett The Ledge Bungy100%

While not being the highest bungy (47 metres), it feels a lot higher as it is located halfway up a mountain overlooking Queenstown. The difference between this one and Kawarau being that the harness is at your waist so you can choose whether you want to run and jump, fall off backwards, you can even shuffle out on a chair (or in a bin as we saw one guy...

  2. AJ Hackett Nevis Highwire Bungy100%

For many, this would have to be the ultimate challenge. This bungy is a staggering 134 metres (440 feet) drop, over a river. It starts with a rugged 35 minute back-blocks 4x4 drive before you get harnessed up and board a shuttle which ferries you to the the Bungy Pod (located on a wire hovering over the river!) All thats left is to take the jump and enjoy the...

  3. AJ Hackett The Kawarau Bridge Bungy Jump100%

The Kawarau Bridge Bungy is home to the original 43 metre bungy, the first commercial bungy site, and is where it all started back in late 80's. Tens of thousands take the leap from here every year! It is also unique as you can chose to have your head dipped in the water, or even be fully immersed! An exhilarating experience, the bungee jump will leave you...

  4. Nzone Sky Diving100%

I did a tandem sky-dive with Nzone. The office is in Queenstown and on the day they bring you to the drop zone which is just outside the city centre, meaning that you get a fantastic view of the mountains and city (not that it's the first thing on your mind!) We were booked in for 11am and departed for the drop zone, we waited around for about an hour and...

Luging basically involves sitting on a plastic toboggan at the top of a mountain and pitching yourself down that mountain at great speed. Super fun.

Fantastic bar in the heart of Queenstown. Only one that I know of where the roof opens up !! In winter this is mad. One minute its nice and toasty at the bar, next minute its snowing, quite a wierd sensation !! Some of the most fantastic pizzas that I have ever eaten are here. Try the sweet thai chili chicken pizza ... its been 3 years and I still can't get it...
