The Old Countryhouse 88%
The staff were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the complimentary freshly baked bread they made for the guests daily.

1Our room was next to a main street and was therefore very noisy. The location was further away from town than we desired. The hostel is very lovely and the staff was great.

Jailhouse Accommodation 88%
The only problem with this hostel was the location. It is a 15min bus journey to the centre of Christchurch but buses are very frequent apart from Sundays. The place is immaculate and beds are unbelievably comfortable. Great kitchen facilities and staff very friendly.

3I really enjoyed my stay. It is just a shame that it is quite far from the city centre.

12The hostel was very clean and quiet, and the staff was great. The location cannot be beat-- it's right in between Cathedral Square and the Botanic Gardens, just across from the market. Everything is within easy walking distance.

An amazing hotel for the price. Very comfortable and swarve. Great location but not the best place to meet people.

6Hard to believe such a swanky place could fit into a tight budget, but it did - and very pleased I was of this!

2The kitchen was quite badly equipped and not a very relaxing environment to cook in. Fridges were in the dorms ?!Also, the lounge area was really brightly lit with few couches so wasnt a very relaxing place on an evening. The dorm room was adequate but there were no ladders upto the top bunks and...

Hummingbird Bar/ Cafe100%
This place is a gold mine, I went there at 6pm and it was already full. They have a a tapas menu , I had two tapas and they were good. I had a sirloin as a tapa, they give you a small piece , it was cooked perfectly and just melts in your mouth. I also had calamari rings which were also beautiful and presented very well. As a side, I had garlic potatoes...

Sticky Fingers100%
Sticky Fingers manages perfectly the difficult task of successfully combining a trendy fun bar with a great atmosphere with a great restaurant with lovely food that doesn’t break the bank. The athmosphere in the bar is lively and the clientele are very laid back. The staff are very attentive and even entertain the occasional bit of flirting. Try the seafood...

City life60%
Christchurch is a really pretty city but not very big. Having lived in Dublin for years before going here I didn't find it the most exciting of cities. I was there during the rugby Lions Tour and it was really the tourists that made the week. There are plusses to Christchurch, as I said there is lots to see in it and the surrounding beach towns are very cute...
