This is a complex of castles and buildings built by the tycoon George C. Boldt for his wife. Today you can visit these buildings that were once left derilict after the death of his wife. There are exhibitions in some of the buildings.

“ You have to take this trip to boldt castle, its like a fairytale, it is so historic. We were there AUG 14, Unfortunately all our memories were on our camcorder that was left outside the childrens playground, just praying that the honest person will hand it in. Take the trip, we really enjoyed it. ”

“ Take the Uncle Same Boat tour from Alex Bay to Boldt Castle. It's really worth the trip. This castle was built in tribute for the love that George Boldt had for his wife. When she passed away before the castle could be finished, he stopped the workers and abandoned it. It was later finished... ”

“ This is a good side trip from New York City. The river is great fun to swim/paddle on and the castle is spectacular. It is unfinished but there are still plenty of interesting exhibits around the island. ”
