The world's most famous city - speaks for itself. Loads to do. I always plan the next journey when flying out of JFK. |

Manhattan is overall the most interesting place to go in NYC. The big apple offers tons of attractions to play around.
The good thing is we can meet all kinds of cool people with different nationalities. No one really cares the color of the skin or who you were before.
Queens and Flushing are crowded by the Asians. We love Asian food there. There are many Asian Americans, handsome and beautiful people...^^
The metro system developed so well which can take you everywhere. So, if it is your first time to NYC, get used to the subway system, it will help you out on accessing the big city.
The city itself is kinda dirty and disorganised. However, it is NYC, people just love it. It is a cool place! |

New York is the ultimate city to visit. I don't think I could ever get sick of going there. It's always exciting and you'll find something new and interesting to do or see every time you go. New York has something for everyone: great shopping, the best restaurants, Broadway Shows. The list is endless... The last time I went was in November and it wasn't as cold as I expected. There's definitely something special about New York at Christmas. There's a great buzz around the city and you can go ice skating. It's just like all those Christmas movies you watched as a child only better!! |

My first visit to this fantastic city was March of this year and all I have wanted to do since I have returned is to book my next trip. You will never have enough time this magical city. It has it all- and it will be even more fantastic than you can imagine. Yes it is expensive but you don't mind when you are there, there is just to much to see and do and above all way to much shopping on offer. |

You love it or hate it. There is no in between. One of the greatest cities in the world. Lots to see and do, great food and people. |

Very dirty hostel. Good location near subway station. So much to do and to see in New York - you dont need the hostel for anything but sleeping and showering |

Fantastic place. Character and staff very excellent. |

great city everything you\'ve read about and more.
The people were so friendly and helpful within a few minutes of arriving at JFK I had 4 or 5 conversations.
Great sightseeing and food. |

The city where you can have and do anything your heart desires... |

New York is an amazing place - really prepare before you go as it takes time to get used to the place. Check out all the free things which help give a flavour of the city and talk to as many people as possible. The city is one of extremes in every sense of the word. |

New york is quite simply a fantastic city with something happening on every corner. I didn´t get to do a lot of things due to the short period of my stay. I happened to be caught in a very heavy shower but it didn´t manage to dampen my day. Only the lack of service in most stores I visited could have done that |

crowded with people. Guggenheim sucks. |

Disgusting - Hated it! |

If you like big cities, crowded and multicultural come here. and i fyou like big buildings and materialism thats all you will see, next time i rather go to a place where i can be sorrounded by nature, NY its only to go shopping, visit museums and to enjoy the american way of life. |

it was very pricy but it was a great experience. we went on a short budget and took the hop on and off tour bus that was great. we used it to travel all over and had a great time. it was a little cold and expansive but well worth it |

Amazing city. Always goin away with my mates on holidays and this was one of the best. Really cheap shopping, great food wherever you go. Nightlife could be better for the city that it is. Have to know what areas to go to first. I\'d suggest Bleeker/Houston Street for bars. Didnt really go to any clubs.
Taxi drivers arent all theyre cracked up to be. Out of the 20+ we got only one was helpful. All the rest just spoke on their headsets in their native language and then looked suprised when we didnt tip. Nothing like the \"fountains of knowlege\" theyre made out to be in films and tv programmes. Alot drive like idiots too so be aware. If you want to get around take a limo. Most of the time they are empty. We got a lift home from a bar in one for $80. Driving throught Time Square in a limo is an experience!
Staff are polite everywhere you go. Even in McDonalds. |

If NY was in Europe, I would be leaving there... |

A great place! I\'ll be back. Everyone is really friendly and kind or just like an angry will farrel character so comic. There\'s a great diversity of things to do, and you could probably do it on the cheap if you don\'t feel the compulsion to go up high things, check your email for free on at the apple store, and don\'t feel the compulsion to drink beer and bourbon. |

I love it. The city is so intensely alive, urban and fresh. Always up to date, always fast paced. |

New York is an amazing city! But I would recommend to spend at least one week there. 5 days were too less for this big city! I wish I would have been able to see so much more. |

New York is fucking amazing! The variety of people amongst the beautiful city setting is so refreshing to see. The public transportation if fun, easy and cheap. I did all of the things I voted on and spent a little more that I had planned on and that is why it got a side thumb. If you haven\'t been to NY, you need to for tourism and a feel for the culture of New Yorkers. |

The location is good, and people working in was very pleasant. We read about litter inside...where is ti?? Our room was as good as it have to be a room only for sleep. If I return to NYC I\'ll visit Royal Park again! Thanks to the non-twin brothers at the reception, and thanks too for the recomendation for the turkey on Thanksgiving day, `el malecon´ is cool!

Everything was great. The place was clean and safe. The location is very close from Time SQ something really cool. The neightbordhood is not the best, but it\'s ok. The room was new and clean... i have to said that i wasn\'t expected someting like that.. it was better than what i expected. And the persons there was cool too... very respectful and helpfull.. they gave me a towel (someting that i forgot) and that was new and clean. I have to recomend it!!! the photogrpas on the review are old... the front door now is new blue door and i didn\'t see any garbage anyware or any wall unpaint... is all new and you will only pay 50 a day in one of the best place in MANHATAN!!!! And they have WIFI for FREE!!!! GREAT!!! |

This is possibly the best city in the entire world! Okay that could be a bit of a generalisation but honestly, I dont think I could ever get bored with New York. Christmas is definately one of the best times to visit, the shop windows and shop fronts are really pretty and covered with lights. If you can handle the crowds its worth visiting the Rockerfeller Centre and maybe the ice rink, although the Wollman Rink in Central park is my favourite, if you go at night you have a great view of the NY Skyline.
There are so many areas to go out at night you would be spoiled for choice! We went to the Meatpacking District which is full or really cool bars and clubs. You could also go down to Greenwich Village or Soho for a more chilled out atmosphere.
If you like shopping, its everywhere. If you dont however the bus tour is really worthwhile and good value for money if you hop on and hop off. The Metropolitan Museum is well worth a visit, its well laid out and you can get around most things in a couple of hours, it also has something for everyone.
You will never see everything in one visit, so plan a few and dont try and do too much at one! |

So I came back to New York (wasn't running around like a kid in Dyland Candy and didn't get sunstroke), the weather was gorgeous and New York suddenly became the best relationship I have ever had (stick tongue out at ex's lol)
Manhattan shines in the sun, the sun puts everybody in a great mood (oh and because I've lost 5 stone I looked great!!)
Everything i've missed before I have now done and I'm still coming back for more
New York City I love you |

We stayed in a 8 beds dorm for Xmas (for 7 nights). It has been a nightmare from the arrival. The beds are crap, so so old and noisy...the rooms are very small to fit 8 persons. If you are lucky you can get some hot water in the shower. We saw some mouse in the living room/entrance. No equipment in the kitchen (cup, cuttelery, plates). You have to pay to access internet (except if you have your own laptop). I also think the lounge is too small to fit so many persons. However, the location is really good, closed to Starbucks to have breakfast on the morning, to corner shops and tube station (direct to Times Square). |

It's been a while since I've been in New York. It was pre-9/11 so I'm sure it has changed somewhat but the places I remember and enjoyed are still there. I really enjoyed the tourist spots like the top of the Empire State building and of course Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. My favourite place was a little icecream parlour called Serendipity 3 which my NY friend Rachel brought me to. I plan to go back this year and I'm really looking forward to it. I stayed in Fitzpatricks Hotel Manhattan which was pretty plush but this time I'll be looking for cheaper accomodation. |

Loved the food, loved the food... to be honest I wasn't there very long, but had a great time. One thing I will never get used to about NY is the agressive driving. |

nice people, good rooms for the price, neighborhood is a little \"oriental town\" in flushing, i felt safe. |

I love NYC...just go there, you have to see it!!! |

I visited New York last week with two mates. We stayed in the American Dream Hostel which is ideally located near Grammercy Square, near downtown yet has nothing else going for it. At the weekend we found the guidebook recommended Meatpacking District to be overhyped and rather like a typical UK clubbing district. The grimy Lower East Side was far better! |

ok..firts things first...its a bit pricy..BUT when you get there you realise why! The beds for starter..5 Star..truely the best beds i have slept on in a hostel! you know its expensive, free internet, all toiliteries are awailable (if you forgot), nice lounge, big flat screen TV and of cos..the hospitality and genuiness of the owner (Ping)! I just felt like I was at home! must say..its also the cleanest hostel i have been so far...he takes good care..and since its so clean..you wana keep it that way..toilets are just spotless! So...If you dont mind a few extra $..this is the place to stay..of cos its just hop step and a jump to time square, and all transport! will definetly stay there! thanks guys |

Best hostel ever. Staff are the nicest people you'll ever come across travelling, and in a brilliant location. I'll be back one day for definate. Roberto i owe you about 1000 Mocialos, Brendon i owe you about 22 straight days of amazing music, Jmaes i owe you a few b*tches, and El Duro hombre i sent you £20 yesterday, you should have it in a few days i guess, sorry about the wait i only got home home a few days ago. John

it\'s really good for the price range the breakfast is amazing!! The staff are awesome, very nice people and it\'s very clean. The bad points are they don\'t have wifi at all , your best bet is to stand outside and hope to catch a signal from next door and there is not much of a common room to meet other travellers which for a solo traveller can be quite boring!! location is good it\'s easy to get around as the subway is close by and this part of harlem is vvery safe but still felt strange going through it after a night out. It\'s not the best but it\'s not the worst! |
