First opened in 1897 this is one of the cities oldest eateries, since then the restaurant has almost doubled in size and part of the restaurant is still the original dining room. Try the pizzeria's famous clam pie.

Lombardi's was licensed by the City of New York in 1905 to start selling pizza and therfore can make the claim that is it is America's First Pizzeria - which is quite a claim it is situated in Little Italy on the corner of spring Street and Mott street - and their pizza's are devine - now dont... more Lombardi's was licensed by the City of New York in 1905 to start selling pizza and therfore can make the claim that is it is America's First Pizzeria - which is quite a claim it is situated in Little Italy on the corner of spring Street and Mott street - and their pizza's are devine - now dont expect anything else but pizza there are no starters or deserts just good decent pizza and the wine list is not very long but you get exactly what you want and going by the clientelle it has still managed to remain a local favourite with mostly new yorkers eating in it and italian new yorkers at that - it is not expensive but get there early otherwise you will be queing out on the streetclose
