The interior design is outstanding and I like the candels smelled wonderful. It gave character to the Hotel. It was the cheapest and best located Hotel I could ever get so near Broadway and Times Square. Loved that its neighbour was a church! Loved the contrast. Ok, room.

Good room clean and comfortable , very convenient place, near Central Park. One dark point : service rather different from one employee to another. Generaly speaking, they were a bit "artificials" and cold

Hotel was definitely not as described. Bathroom unclean and not secure. Room was inadequately sized - no room for your bags. Better accommodation and pricing is found across the road (Quality Hotel). Do not recommend Portland at all.

I think everybody can access the hotel and go to any room without any security guards or people watching. Then the price I found it too high for the type of accomodations. Whats more the pics in the internet are far different from what you ultimately get.

Excellent location, just steps to Times Square, good heating, clean, room, eficiemt & helpful housekeeping, friendly staff, small rooms but more than adequate for a reasonable price in such a great location. Highly recommended !

Most of the staff was fine, but a couple are needing more training on customer service skills. It was a place I'd visit again, for sure. The price was excellent.

If you want Times Square action, this is a good, safe, clean bet. There is a good diner & convenient store across the street & an ATM & internet in the lobby for convenience.close

I felt very claustrophobic in the single room I'd booked, there was literally only enough room for a single bed and a wash basin. Would not recommend this property if you are sharing the ensuite facilities. Wasn't very impressed at all and ended up changing hotels.

Great location but very average for the money. I guess that is just how it is in expensive NYC.

The rooms we're really old, basic and dirty. chewing gum on the carpet in our room and window held in place with cardboard. The whole hotel is also decorated in dark brown, which makes it look dingy. Great location is its only reedeming feature

The only negative point was that there was no toilet paper in the bathroom on our floor for two days. But after we informed the front desk it was refilled immediately. Maybe it would be helpful to check the bathrooms once a day to avoid such problems.

This place was great! I'll definately be staying here next time I come back to New York. The rooms were clean, but very tiny. The best part about staying here is that Times Square is 30 seconds away after you step out the hotel. A very convienient location.

Not bad, but not good also. In a nutshell, I would rather prefer to try a new hotel in a next trip to New York instead of going to Portland hotel again. If the cost would be the half of the current rates, it would be good value for money; in the current conditions, I think is not good enough....

Nice place for resting after a long journey. Placed at a very strategic and convenient location. If you just to have a proper place to spend the night, this hotel is sufficient. Your main objective is probably to look at the city rather than staying in your hotel room.
