The taxi ride from LaGuardia was very quick, and about 30 bucks. Can differ slightly depending on factors, apparently. The room was quite small, but did have a lot of character and was clean as a whistle, as was the bathroom in our double bed, private bathroom room. The room was shaped rather interestingly, not your typical Super 8 motel room in other words, and I thought it was cool. The ceiling light was nicely set off in an octagon outline. Again, it was very small. The person sleeping in the double bed closest to the wall has to either climb over the other person to get out, or slide down and out, no big deal but a warning for anyone who needs to know. It had a perfect TV and a little desk, and a radiator for heat. Heat was apparently controlled by the Front Desk. It worked well. Coffee maker. Hair dryer in bathroom. All we needed was a place to sleep, and it served the purpose just fine. Room 508 was also very quiet. Never heard a thing at night. Only view from that room is a tree, not a bad thing of course, but we found out by opening the bathroom window that you could see the Empire State Building. May try for a higher room next time. Having seen the shared bathrooms, I would not hesitate to use those in the future, as well. The staff was friendly enough and let us keep our bags in a locked room the last day after check-out, while we ran around. A friend had the room with two double beds and it was quite large enough, by the way, to not have any claustrophobic type feeling. Location was wonderful. Close to subway. No difficulty doing anything, just walk out the door and go for whatever you wish. Loved every minute in NYC. Every single minute!close

The hotel was extremely clean and "liveable". The staff were very friendly and polite. The hotel location was just right for what we needed. I/we would certainly use the hotel again, and recommend it to anyone else.

The location has been great. The best starting point to all your excursions in Manhattan. The hotel was clean, well organised with a very polite personnel. I would have never thought that I could call a striped wallpaper like that stylish but it was. We have had a great time. Thanks.

slightly pokey but in a good, old-fashioned sort of way. no breakfast served. feels quite old, but affordable - as much as ny accommodation is affordable!

Very good location! Only two minutes to subway line 6, loads of restaurants around the corner, not very busy with tourists. Although the rooms lack charme and are rather small, everything's extremely clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

A clean budget hotel in an excellent location. A bit of a boring place, but otherwise, no complaints.
