Because there is no lift it is very hard to be there when is the last stop on your travel. I don´t think I would recomended at all. Plus the staff attitude was also not good.

Beds are ridiculously squeaky, can make sleeping difficult. Very nice place, decent breakfast...would recommend earplugs.

Very nice, very clean, great location. WiFi doesn't work in the dorms, only in the common room, which closes at 23:30. Daytime receptionist could be a bit friendlier.

I'd certainly go back to stay at Village Inn Hostel again- I know they're a little bit more pricey than most of the other hostels that have accommodated me, but it's worth it for sure.

I walked past the building because it had a condemed sticker on the window but as it turned out it was only some of the rooms. Dont know what was going on there but it wasn't a bad place to stay. The rooms are clean but the beds are not very good. It had a/c and a good kitchen

If you don't want to socialize and just experience NY, then it's a good stay 'cause it's in a very good location. But the atmosphere isn't that great, it's hard to get to know people.

Though i wonder if that's the nature of NYC; with folks just constantly in and out, it's difficult to get anyone to sit long enough to hear their story. Plus they'd close the common area by 11, and the common area was not a very comfortable place to hang out (it was more reminiscent of a small school cafeteria). Appreciated their provision of breakfast, though.close

Great location in a neighborhood near NYU. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms are decent sized and clean. Not a party hostel at all though. Definitely very nice and clean, but not much atmosphere for meeting new people etc.
