stayed there once also in August 2008 and loved it so back I came back to NYC and stayed again! Well worth the stay as the staff treats you like family, caring, very clean, just lots of stairs to climb so if you want excercise, be prepared, those stairs will do you good!!! very noisy room. Overall it's really near to the subway, but it's really hard to get into sleep because you will hear noise ALL THE TIME OVER THE WHOLE NIGHT!

Great hostel, one of the best i've stayed in! Clean, safe, staff is great, great location just one or two blocks away from central park. Really fun top floor, near the a subway entrance JUST GREAT!

Was only there for about 7 hrs on a layover, but liked that they have key card entry. Easy to find.. anywhere in New York is a good location, but this is super close to subway stop.

I stayed in a 3-bed womendorm. The beds and showers were good. I saw nothing else being cleaned. The floors were dirty and everything I touched was sticky. Some of the front desk satff could benefit from training on being pleasnt. The person I was traveling with had her bed taken the second night, luckily there was another open bed in the room. The AC was not so great either. It is nice and close to a metro stop which facilitates things.close

we slept in 12 female dorm. the first 5 days was great and very clean, after that we missed the cleaner. the roof is great and we really enjoyed it. the location is good because is near the subway station and central park. you can also walk down town because is not far away.

Bring your own towels and keep them out of view, or they will get snatched up into the communal group--the laundry does not get the ones provided acceptably fresh or clean, and this was the only truly unpleasant part of the experience.

Far from the center of the city, cannot easily walk to places. The hostel is right across from a building with many bumbs and weird looking people. The room and bathroom where I stayed at were never cleaned and were really dirty. I met cool people and that made my visit very enjoyable.

You need a category that says "Not applicable/no response." I can't rate your facilities if I wasn't there...You guys were great w/customer service before my trip. However, I had to cancel my visit and didn't get a chance to experience Jazz on the City--thanks anyway!

They have no kitchen. The air conditioned is so noisy and if you are close is frizzing cold. They have like 6 floors (no elevator) and a nice roof on top with internet and a sofa.

Some of the staff were not very helpful but a great location and fairly clean rooms. 12 people to 1 bathroom caused a few problems in the morning overall a fairly good experience.

Our Hostelworld booking didn't make it to the hostel but they made sure even though they were overbooked that we had a bed for each of us to lay our heads on and let us stay for free!!! Also this hostel features a outside patio which is neat to hang out on because you about 6 stories high...

Very relaxed hostel. Great rooftop. The security for my room was a bit questionable since the lock to the door didn't work. Good sized lockers in the rooms. I was happy that towels were provided without any extra cost.
