We are a comfy guesthouse in Kew Gardens (Queens), NY. We are much smaller and friendlier than most hostels in NYC. We have 3 shared bedrooms; with just 4-6 bunk beds in each. We have a fully equipped kitchen, free spices, free tea, and all the cooking utensils you miss from home. We encourage communal activities, and our guesthouse is run like a friendly home rather than an institution. Some of our joint events include sporadic cook-outs, road trips, movie nights, and more. We offer FREE wireless, FREE incoming/outgoing US phone calls, bike rental, fax services and more. We are close to the subway (E/F), major buses, both LaGuardia & JFK airports. Surrounding neighborhoods are Forest Hills and Flushing. Our family also includes 2 friendly rescued cats. They are warm and cuddly, but please consider this if you are allergic. Welcome to Alyna's Apartment, enjoy your stay.

When we were trying to sleep at 1am, we were kept awake by staff sorting out hostel business in loud voices right next to our beds. You have to pay for linen and towels, and there were bloodstains on my mattress. Beware all ye who enter here.close

Within 5 mins of being there a huge leggy creature ran across the floor and it was NOT a cockroach! $50…$2 for sheets- a bit much when the pillows have stains all over them… NASTY stains. The bathroom is filthy and they overbook all the time. Two of us were told we'd have to sleep top & tail in a single bed- and after seeing the state of the room we wrote off our $50 & found a new hotel. Listen. Just do not do it- sleep on the subway it is safer and cleaner! xclose

The manager was extremely friendly and helpful, although it is a bit of a subway ride from Manhattan.

it's is very simular to a studenthouse in europe. messy, cosy and small. fun part is that you easily make contact with other travellers because you feel like a family in one house. It is to expensive for the quality and location.

The staff is very nice and I didn't have problems to sleep. I think the manage should change somethings like offer sheet and towel, because I don't think we have to pay to have it, it should be include in the package. It is too expensive compared to the service.

Well this place was really good for me. It just like a typical dorm. Only 5 minute walk or less to subway. I felt safe walking home from subway at night alone. Has a little patio deck in back which is handy for chilling out. I would come again. I booked 2 nights and now staying 5 nights.

When i turned up,no staff were there and i was told that they would not be around for a while. when i returned at night all the beds had been taken and they had overbooked and there was no staff to deal witht he problems. Through my whole stay did i not once see a staff member.
