I didn't really mind the dirty room but the point is that you can find a hotel twice cheaper in this neighbourhood. I moved to Camran Lodge after one night and paid 180 rs there for the same standard you get in vivek for 450 rs

Very clean place, helpful staff, great location (extremely safe). Maybe it could be just slightly cheaper...

As far as hostels in India go this ok. Always print off your receipt as they will try &book u into a higher paying room. I originally booked the 450rs room but found it too hot with no AC(also not very clean)& upgraded to 304 for 800rs-this room was fine. Main Bazaar is great for shopping and has a lot of character but you will get harassed! Great restaurant called My Restaurant up the road! Dont pay for Internet here, there is a cheaper and internet cafe down the road at 10rs for 30 minsclose

This hotel is in a great central location in the main bazaar; a short taxi ride from New Delhi Railway station. Cleanliness of bathrooms is not great (we stayed in two different rooms). Sam's cafe on roof top terrace is great value for money with good views of city.

All in all, if you don't mind 'basic', want to be in an amazing part of the city & are on a budget you won't be disappointed.close

This is a rip off : you book a room based on the photos advertised on the site; then when you turn up they say they don't have your booking and they put you in a crappy room. Basically, the rooms have no AC, are dirty (linen is obviously not changed often), and you really need to want to use the bathroom (shared turk WC / shower). Location can be fun if you want the crowd of Main Bazaar street. Not recommended, at least not for what they advertise.close

Be careful when catching a taxi from the airport, esp if you have an overnight flight! Later we made our way to Paharganj, found the Vivek Hotel and checked it out. We will stay there when we return to Delhi and found them very professional. We recommend you use the hotel's pick-up service to avoid taxi scams though.close
