New Delhi City Guide

New Delhi is India’s capital city. Home to over 300,000 people, this city boasts a large number of popular attractions. These include the stunning 16th century Humayun’s Tomb, the Qutab Minar stone tower, the National Rail Museum and the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory. The climate here is generally hot and sunny, with rains coming during monsoon season. In terms of shopping, check out some of the city’s numerous bazaars and markets. Wander around the bustling Connaught Place, as well as bazaars such as Pahargan Market, Janpath and the Central Market in Lajpat Nagar. Along with shops, Connaught Place is also full of great places to eat. Try some traditional Indian cuisine, including chaat which is the favourite local snack option. International cuisine is also well-represented. A number of top-notch bars and hookah lounges can be found throughout the city.

  “ I booked hotel tara palace in Delhi, ,opposite red fort(famous monument) for 3 nights but when I arrive at the airport , taxi drivers say this hotel is closed for rennovation so you go to the another hotel(expensive) where the service is very lower and asking for the tours and travel. But in… more the morning when I went to the red fort I saw opp red fort my booked hotel shows and there is no any rennovation going on. Hotel staff say your booking is confirmed and says touts at the airport always trying to cancel your prebooking and diverts towards the other hotel and travel agent for his commiission.I realize that hotel is right and I brought my luggage and check in the hotel. But I not trust my hotel because of night incident after take some refreshment I went to the city centre(Connaught Place) for tourist office but in the connaught place too many auto drivers and touts surrounding me and say I show you the tourist office where you make your travel plans and information , they charge half amount from my card and say tommorrow morning your tour starts you get ready upto 8:00 am at the hotel reception. But next morning nor his driver came at the hotel , then I called them they deny our deposit . My hotel is very helpful and get back my money from this Travel agency(Incredible close

  “ I would not recommend staying here. It is about 45 minutes outside of the city by autorickshaw. The family is nice, but will try to book you on expensive tours... dont be fooled! It is overpriced (800 rupee a night for single) for being so far away from the city center everything.… more Don\'t stay here unless that lower the price for you. Also, none of the rickshaw drivers could ever find the place... i had to have the family draw a map for all my drivers. close

  “ a chaotic city and a bit of a eye opener. there are some great sites in the city and some good places to eat out but its very expensive compared to other parts of India. a couple of days at the most should be enough here.
