You are only allowed one shower a day, which is no joke in the heat and my sheets had holes from wear. If you don`t mind being told when you can have air-con on or strange rules about one towel (no bigger than a face cloth) you can`t do much better for the price.close

Friendly staff but very dead. There was no common meeting area that I was aware of. I slept and left early the next day.

She had my bed all made up for me when I arrived, gave me a tourist map and brochure, and even invited some us for plum wine and snacks. By the way, I didn't have to choose a specific shower time, just whether or not I wanted to shower in the morning or evening, which seems reasonable.close

It was a pain to have a designated shower time because I had funky hours while on a research trip. Due to the language barrier, there were complications when it came to what they did/didn't want back regarding bedding, etc, because they kept saying something different. Overnight, I didn't feel safe because when I got to the hostel, the door to my room was only covered by a curtain. I was in a triple dorm-style room and the last to arrive. It wasn't until the morning that I knew the door had been closed/locked overnight, so I was pretty uncomfortable. The owner was very nice, though. :)close

I guess if you are someone who would like to go out and party this is not the place for you, but if you like a quiet little place that's clean, in a good location and with really friendly owners, go to Ebisu. It has a nice homey feel because you stay in the house of the owners and they have really tried hard to make it comfortable. I enjoyed staying here.close

Having showers at set times and curfews were a little bit inconvenient. Apart from that, it's a good, clean, cheap and reasonable place for a couple of nights.

It is conveniently located to Nagasaki Station (less than 10 min walk) and is only minutes to a street car stop, making sight seeing convenient. I stayed in a three person room, which had a bunk bed and one single bed. The sheets were clean and the blankets were actually really nice. The bunk bed was wooden, so it didn't squeak anytime anyone moved. The rooms are very simple, but clean. There is a computer available for everyone and you can use the internet for only 15 minutes per day. I think that there are LAN cables for you to use in your room, if you have your own computer. The couple running the hostel are friendly and have a mini-library of books and info about things to do in the area. The communal area is fairly small, consisting of a small table and a small couch. There isn't really any space to stretch out your legs and relax, and it probably wouldn't be a good place for gathering with your friends and getting a little too loud. Breakfast is an option, but I didn't get it. Tea is always available. I think that there is only one shower, but I didn't notice any congestion. It was clean and the water was hot and had good pressure. All of the rooms are on the second floor and there are two big sinks for brushing your teeth, etc in the hallway. The women's restrooms are on the second floor, but the men have to go to the first floor. I think that private, family, and rooms for people with pets are available, but I didn't see them. The building itself is not anything interesting and it is fairly small. For anybody comfortable with the communal feel of a hostel as is looking for a cheap place to stay in Nagasaki, I wouldn't have any problems recommending this hostel!close

A bit expensive for what you get....rates posted on the wall appeared to be somewhat cheaper then those on this site......but unable to make much sense of it with very limited japonese.

Friendly staff/owner for sure. A little pricey when compared to the toyoko inn just a few hundred metres away with double rooms and en-suite and included breakfast for the same price as a single bed in a dorm for one night. very friendly though and they do refund the nights you do not stay for...

The private room with bathroom is good value for money, unless you want more than a view of a cement wall from your window (that didn`t bother me).

This is definitely a more old school place - the curfew is a drag. Still, it's safe enough, and central - and i met some lovely people there, as it's the cheapest option for backpackers!

This was the least enjoyable place i have stayed in Japan. They made me move to their hostel around the corner which was very ugly and didnt feel very clean. The staff was very unhelpful. The location is the only good thing about it. Fairly close to the train station and near the streetcar

If you book a private room you don`t actually stay in the hostel, you stay in an old Business Hotel around the corner. The hotel itself was fine apart from the brick wall of a view.

Photos on your website did not match the hostel - we stayed in another building a few minutes away on a busy intersection next to a petrol station. Rooms were dark and we did not have a window. Overall disappointed.

On the homepage of this hostel it is written that internet access is free and although you do not have to pay extra for it, it is restricted to a puny 15 minutes per day. The window in our room was barred by concrete making it extremely unsafe in case of a fire. People do not respect the rules...
