It is a small but very prosperous city (if 14,000 inhabitants qualify for the word 'city') in South West Finland, not far from Turku. It is one of the oldest cities in Finland and is really very pretty with all its wooden houses and imposing church. It is a good base for visiting the archipelago off the coast and is a favourite boating destination - in fact it is one of the most visited places in Finland. I remember I ate in a local café where the food was delicious but I cannot remember where, sorry. There is a Moomin (chartoon character) theme park nearby but I can't review it (not my sort of thing!).close
