Their was a pool which was a plus but the pool was not clean. The view was incredible and the breakfast was very filling. To go out you needed to walk about 15 minutes to go to the good places. The shuttle service on the other hand was slightly rude. Overall, this place was more of a family spot and was nice and quiet. I would recommend it and return again!close

I would come back to the same hotel, it is a bit far from the center (15 min. walking). Do not forget to ask pick up service to the hotel from the port, because it is far and very difficult to find transportation. Fantastic views.

The room was dirty. Plenty of Bug. Too Expensive for what they provided. Horrible directions from Port. Cute atmosphere, very nice staff. Dirty rooms. And Expensive.

The chairs in the veranda need to be repaired and the curtain hanger in the bathroom should be adjusted to protect the water from splashing outside in room 7.

The pool was nice & cold and the rooms were simple and clean. The staff was a bunch of idiots. I would not stay there again, although it was a good location - however, you pretty much need a scooter no matter where you stay in the island in order to see the sights and beaches.close

Hostel world had over booked us for this place so hotel madalena shifted us free of charge to a first class hotel just 5mins up the road, owned by the same company. The staff were great and so was the accommodation.

Unfortunately our trip coincided with spring break and we had to contend with college kids at our hotel as well. If I had stayed here during a time outside spring break, then nearly everything would have been excellent.close

We then had to switch to a worse room in the pouring rain. No apology was offered, no compensation for our drenched clothes - we only received blank looks when we inquired about a refund for our last night. We're travel writers in Australia and would really appreciate some satisfication before we take the matter further. Otherwise, it was fantastic.close

They had not checked their bookings so had no room available for us. Madalena's English was poor, but she made no attempts to apologise or arrange alternative accomodation. We were left to wander the streets to find a new place!

The location is about a 10 minute walk to the town center, we thought it was going to be a bit closer. The staff was friendly but the transportation to and from the port they offer is only between certain hours...which sucks if you have an early ferry. Overall good place to stay.close
