Mykonos is one of the most popular Greek Islands. The island’s main town is also called Mykonos. People have been settling here for thousands of years, and the island also pops up in Greek mythology. Sun seekers can soak up the rays at the huge number of beaches scattered around the island. Whether you’re looking for a lively beach with a young crowd, something a little quieter or even somewhere to go snorkelling or jet skiing, you’ll be able to find it here. Apart from these sandy stretches, Mykonos is known for its nightlife. Beach bars and clubs make up the bulk of this energetic scene, with many gay-friendly venues to be found. In terms of things to see, keep an eye out for Petros the Pelican, the Mykonos Mascot. While you’re here you should also try to check out the renowned and easily recognisable Mykonos windmills.

jessiedearien5884 says: “ Go to Mykonos! If you go, go in the middle of April at the beginning of busy season. Everythings open but nothing is full. It is a beautiful island with a lot to offer. Go and check it out! I would recommend taking a flight from Athens, the boat took freaking forever!
