Munich's main square is crowded with tourists but that's only because it's the city's most beautiful square. It's particularly crowded around 12 and 5 when the 'Glockenspiel' show is on.

The facade of the Rathaus (City Hall) is gigantic and beautiful, the building was built in the late 19th century; one example of German "Gründerzeit style", a historical backdating style, because the building looks like nit was built in the middle ages.Just around the corner is Frauenkirche, a real piece of medieval architecture and a very dominant one. There are a lot of cafés and restaurants around where you can enjoy a cappuccino with a piece of Apfelstrudel, very nice. You can find a lot of shops as well, however when looking at the prices you will feel that you are in the main square!close
