Munich is a beautiful and lively city; it is extremely clean and organized. To start with the airport is a bit far from the city so if you are heading to the city centre you will have to use the S-Bahn (train), line S1 and S8 are going to the centre. You have to buy a day ticket covering all areas and the “Partnerkarte” is valid for up to five people, costs €18. Public transport is unbelievable: there are trains, trams, buses and underground and one of them departs to each possible direction every minute so you will surely get where you need to very quickly. It is also very cheap: if there is more than one person travelling the best is to buy a partner ticket valid for three days and up to five people (Partnerkarte), it costs € 21. The city centre is quite big, consists of several squares and pedestrian streets, there are a few very nice churches, the theatre; all the houses and buildings are very clean and in perfect condition, it looks really nice. You will definitely enjoy a long weekend or even a longer time there, eating and drinking out is brilliant, there are loads of types of beers and the food is really good and value for money!

An absolutely amazing city. Beer drinkers delight in the beergartens all over the city and the huge brauhauses. Best part? It's cheap!

I am going to be honest, I came to Munich to drink beer and eat sausage. Since Munich is the beer drinking capital of the world it did not disappoint in this area. But it is also a very scenic city with a great history. I love this city.

Munich is much different than Berlin. It is very expensive and it has a more lively and busy feel. I would stay in Meninger Hostel. It was cheap and is located near a subway stop.

Schloss Neushwanstein (the spelling is wrong but that's how you say it) is really worth a visit. Its a castle about 2 hrs away by train - the inspiration for Cinderella's castle - and the scenery is stunning. This trip completes a visit to Munich along with the restaurant beneath the town hall and the Biergarten in the English Gardens!

The city centre is not very big. People can travel around most of the tourist attractions in one day on foot though it will be a bit rush.

Munich is a beautiful city. There isn't a whole lot to see (you can probably see most of the town in 2 days), but there are a bunch of day excursions you can do outside the city.

Great city, some beautiful monuments to see, but especially enjoyable to live there! Food is incredibly good (and cheap compared to some other European cities) and people are very welcoming. Public transport are unfortunately rather expensive...

Munich is a great city. Have been there twice (once for Oktoberfest!). Is great for tourists as the buildings are extremely pleasing on the eye and it's not too big. And of course you have the glorious beer...

Munich is an amazing city. Full of beautifully renovated buildings, a deep and thrilling history (my pers fave being its founding). And should you get bored there are a thousand trips to the nearby areas. Chill, relaxed and bubbling... and with more than its share of beers to taste. A great city to be alone or in company

Usually hostels have computers where one could transfer their sightseeing pictures from their camera to their memory sticks or CD. Here this is not possible which is really bad. The staff wouldn\'t allow to use their computer to do that as well. Apart from this, it is situated very near to the main train station, excellent coffee with light breakfast which is free. Rooms were very neat.

The Hofbrau House was the coolest place in Munich by far. We met some locals and people from everywhere, not to mention the beer is delicious. The pretzels smelled really good, but I just didn\'t come around to buying one, that beer filled me up! Cool city from what I can tell too.

Munich is absolutely amazing--I was only there for one day, but I had a great time and am already planning to go back. Just a tip, if you want a GREAT tour of the city, tours leave from the Wombat Hostel every day at 11---go with Ozzy, without question the best tour I\'ve ever been on.

This place is not the biggest city in the world but well worth a look, plenty to see and the food and nightlife are pretty good too. And if you looking to do some shopping too then you wont be stuck to find a shop or a market stall with a bargain in it. Book you flights now!!
