The Meininger was a great hostel -- very clean, staff was really nice, and really close to the bus/train stations. It's about a 30 minute walk to the city center, or you can take public transportation, but it's a nice walk! Definitely recommend and would stay there again!

All pictures in the website are greater than what the Meininger should be. Bathroom and toilets are not dirty but not clean and fresh, which let me feel uncomfortably somehow.

First time stay in hostel, it was very nice, location is still fine with using metro. We stayed in a six beds private room, very comfortable. Will try this hostel in other places.

We had a great stay here. The showers were the greatest. Try to avoid doing laundry here. It wasn't bad, it just took a long time. It wasn't a very interective environment but overall we would definately stay there again.

Easy to find location from the S-Bahn but a bit out of the way if you do not have access to transport. My room was nice except for a bit of mold on the shower door in the bathroom. Travelers do not seem as friendly or talkative as other hostels I've stayed. Staff did their job but were not... more

Nice room of 8 we had. If just that the showers were not button press would have been much much better. We had to literally press the button hard every 30 seconds. Would have enjoyed the stay more if they.

Good place, near the train station, but quite a hike from the city center. Rooms are spacious and breakfast is great. There is an awesome restaurant/beer hall across the street where you can meet many friendly locals!

Great place to stay. In a walking distance from downtown and the main station, very good structure, cheap, clean. however, be aware that anything apart from sleeping, showering and using the net on your on computer is extra charged.

Nice hostel, no real complaints. Clean and safe. A little further from the city center then most other places, but was a pleasant 15+ minute walk to get there. A beerhall across the street is nice too, with less tourists and more locals.

The dorm was pretty dirty. The floor in the room was sticky and felt like it hadn't been cleaned since new years. The bathroom was pretty bad. Smelt like someone had urinated all over the floor. The kitchen was also a bit lacking. No sharp knives, no cups, 1 dirty tea towel, and a huge puddle in... more

Average hostel experience- not heaps of fun and nothing too excellent about it, but it but it was clean. Kind of dirty looking rooms. The elevator doesn't go to the 6th floor, so if you are on that floor you have to go to the fifth then carry your bags or what ever to the sixth floor. Our room reaked of smoke in a no smoking hostel... Average stay, I would not stay at this hostel again.

really nice hostel for a good price. a 10-minute walk from the main station (and the centre) might sound intimidating, but there are trams and it's not that far to the oktoberfest location. would highly recommend the place.
