Pretty much standard for a chain, good everything but no character. Not always a factor but something to keep in mind

Meininger was a very good hostel. It had excellent rooms that were clean and ensuite was great. It had good security and location. However, the kitchen was often dirty and was poorly equipped.

we stayed in a 14 person mixed dorm and there was 1 toilet and shower for everyone to use. There were no extra showers anywhere in the rest of the hostel and one extra toilet in the main lobby. So if you need to shower wake up at 5 before everyone else to make sure you get a turn.

A problem with commitment...Certainly a good place to stay provided you are in group. Through out the Europe i havnt been uncomfortable n unsecured in such hostel. Hostel is good though, customer satisfaction may came a bit last.

The two best hostels that we have stayed in over the last three months have both been in Munich. It would be between Meininger and Wombats down the road but I would say that Meininger would win as it has cooking facilities.

The location is great for Oktoberfest but not as close to the city center as Wombats Hostel or Jaeger's Hostel. Pretty clean but security is top notch. You can't even get in the building without paper showing you are staying there, which could be good or bad. Take it as you wish.

it was a clean and modern hostel, had a hotel-feel about it. We enjoyed our stay, and it's probably even better in high-season when it's bar is full of other backpackers.

Breakfast for 3.50 Euros was not that bad with a good choice of cereals, breads, jams etc. Rooms were clean but the door wasn't that easy to open. The showers were a problem as they didn't stay on for that long and were very noisy. The beds were hard but I slept well so they must have been quite good. Facilities in the room were great as I was able to watch Takeshi castle. A good place to stay iclose
