There are A LOT of scary monkeys so make sure all your food is well hidden as they will attack you for it. It is worth going to the top of the island where... more To get to Elephanta Island you take a boat from the location of the Gateway to India (near Colaba). The island itself is not too amazing. There are A LOT of scary monkeys so make sure all your food is well hidden as they will attack you for it. It is worth going to the top of the island where there is a cafe for a drink and to enjoy the view. It is a nice quiet change from Mumbai though!close
