If I new that with cheper and better options in Mumbai, I would have never stayed. The staff does not help you in anything, the rooms are basic but dirty, and for the price you pay you don't get anything. The only nice thing about it was the gentleman that sits all night in the hallway waiting...

It's as clean as India gets. Nice & friendly staff and a good location (near Victoria Terminus). If you'll walk down the road towards Colaba you'll bump into a really nice foodschack with nice contenental breakfast and jouices of many choises.

We moved from the Samrat to Hotel Manama and it was a wise decision. The rooms stinks of dampness, but that is the standard in the monsoon apparently. Great location, INR 20 to the Gateway to India and the ferry port to Elephant Island. A bit expensive, but still cheap for Mumbai.
