They refused to put the deposit from hostel world towards the payment and came up with all kind of RIDICULOUS fees at the end of the stay. I had an emergency and could not stay the full booked term and they were JERKS about it. SO amazingly RUDE IT WAS UNREAL! The place is a dump and there is so much noise ear plugs couldn\'t begin to do the trick. the toilet wouldn\'t flush, bathroom door wouldn\'t close, hair ALL OVER the sheets, smelled horrible. The only good thing about this place was....well there WASN\'T anything good!close

The transfer from the hotel to the airport is reliable though, give them plenty of notice when you want it.close

The poverty was overwhelming and everywhere. The poor air quality was painfully thick, like smoking a pack of cigaretts. There was a lot to see and experience both good and disturbingly bad. A city not to be missed, but dont plan for more than a couple of days, there is so much more to be seen in India.close

Hotel Paradise (Mumbai) 85%
You can get much cheaper places for less money. Okay for early morning flights, but otherwise go to another part of town. Very friendly people, and the place itself is nice. Still, expensive for what you get and crap location. Sorry guys.

2Stayed there a few times and is well worth recommending, really large clean rooms, something like you see in a hotel, except half the price, really well kept, great location, great Bar downstairs with good food, great breakfast in the morning

Leopold100%
Leopold's is an institution in Colaba, serving local and "western" style dishes to backpackers, ex-pats and locals alike. Great for meeting new people, both other backpackers and locals who want to meet backpackers. Food is good and should ideally be washed down with a lassi, with usual popular indian dishes, along with western-style food. Great for meeting...

Kamat Restaurant80%
This basic restaurant in Colaba does surprisingly great food. On our first night in India we were too sure what to order, so just picked random dishes, all of which were very tasty, and also extremely cheap.Nothing fancy but worth a visit for a cheap feed.

Elephanta Island40%
To get to Elephanta Island you take a boat from the location of the Gateway to India (near Colaba). The island itself is not too amazing. There are A LOT of scary monkeys so make sure all your food is well hidden as they will attack you for it. It is worth going to the top of the island where there is a cafe for a drink and to enjoy the view. It is a nice...
