As this is the winter season, there is not much activities, but Mt. Fuji will never disappoint the traveller who long for a magnificant view. It is worth coming. |

It is possible to climb Mt Fuji in June even if it is out of season. |

Nice, quiet place. A little bit far from closest station. |

Climbing Mt. Fuji is probably harder than most people expect, but it's definately worth doing at least once. I found the best views around the 7th to 8th station, so don't worry if you don't get all the way to the top. Make sure to bring plenty of water. |

Unsurprisingly, this whole area revolves around the sacred mountain and climbing up it, around it or just trying to see it. As Mt Fuji is SO tall, seeing it at all through the clouds is not guarunteed. It's a great place if you like getting out and about in the wilderness, but otherwise it's just a rather tacky resort. |

Only dare to go there if you are able to understand and speak japanese. A car is also mandatory because distances are huge. |

Beautiful area, tons of buses to local sight-seeing places. Watching the sun set behind the montains over Lake Kawaguchi-ko = priceless. |

Mount Fuji is a beaufiful place. You don't necessarely need to climb it (and it's fairly difficult on the low season anyway, due to bus reductions) : travelling around the nearby lakes gives also a very nice perspective on the Fuji san AND the lakes . However, those lakes are full with tourists and tourists shops. You can travel around with buses : it's cheaper and more direct than traveling by train. Ask the local tourist information. |

weather was great, but every nearby restaurant except the hotel i was staying at was closed at 7pm on a friday night. thus eating and partying suffered in the rate-stakes. everything else was fabulous and i didnt want to get drunk by myself anyway! |

Great room which was super clean with an amazing view of Mount Fuji... room came with nice green tea set with thermos of HOT water; nice futons and warm blanket/comforters; the "ofuro" (hot tub) room was great, with again an amazing view of Fuji-san... great location right across the street from train/bus station... very much enjoyed my stay! |

Difficult to get to if you are taking a late train, it still is a must to go visit, the view of the mountain from most locals is brilliant. A MUST see when in japan |

I went to Kawaguchiko in early Feb. The weather is so cold, made me too lazy to walk around the lake. Anyway, great to see Mt. Fuji, closely. Fuji-san is the loveliest mountain i've ever seen. Might be a better idea to visit there during spring. |

Mount Fuji is arguably the most recognisable mountain in the world, and possibly the most beautiful. In my opinion, the best view of the mountain is from the north shore of Kawaguchiki, and it is best seen in the orange glow of dawn or dusk. If the weather co-operates, you will definitely have a sight to see. |

Kawaguchi-ko is at the foot of Mt Fuji and offer a splendid view of Mt Fuji during the season when you cannot climb Mt Fuji. It also provides access to some great examples of Lava caves of which the \'Bat cave\' is the geologically best.
The local bus service is not that punctual so be prepared to wait a while for buses.
If your looking to buy Volcano merchandise the options are a bit limited. |
