The location is good/great so long as you have your own transport. Reaching the hotel by public transport may be a little more difficult.

In the middle of beautiful countryside and a bus ride from the mount fuji climb and from kawaguchiko, although the bus can get quite expensive. Only one other person at the hostel. the set breakfast for $10 was excellent and unique worth having.close

The bus doesn't run regularly, and when it does, it drops you off on the side of a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. Also note, that "shared" bathroom means a big room with a giant bathtub that doesn't look like it ever gets cleaned, and some extra shower heads. I would not stay here again. Rather, stay in Fujiyoshida!!!close

Hotel is good. Staff is co-operative. Place is inconvinent for travelling. Bus is the only way and frequency is also less. Apart that staying in this hotel is good experiance.

A bit out of the way to get too, but other than that it was great! We got the only room in the place without a lock on the door, but nothing was touched. As long as you don't mind a bit of a bus ride to get there, this is a great place!

Directions were horrible!! No directions available from Kyoto, no help from staff either! Location is so far from base departure point for Fujisan that I didn't even bother getting there. I had to stay in Fujiyoshida instead.
