I was treated very badly by the Male Host. Had to leave the Hotel Champ-De-Mars on 18th instead of 31st and I have written a separate letter to you with regard to that. I hope that you will help me get my money back for the period between 18th - 30th (both inclusive) March 2008. Yours...

Breakfast included was awesome BUT, when I showed up in the middle of the night, the hotel owner decided to charge me a higher rate than I had boooked for online! He will probably try and cheat you too, so if you stay here, be prepared to pay about 50% more than you booked for.close

we had a room by the stairs and it was pretty loud at night since we could hear everyone walking up and down all night. Good breakfast offer though. And secure parking was nice, not that expensive

It was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING in the winter and the room was tiny but the freebie breakfasts were good.

Two minor complaints though - firstly, on arrival we opened the bedside table drawer to find a condom wrapper. We rang reception and specifically asked for the cleaners to remove it the following day but it remained there for the duration of our stay. Also, beware of using the phone in the room. We tried to dial out 13 times, only three of which were successful - the rest went to an automated operator message, and they tried to charge us a dollar for each attempted call! After much debate with the receptionist, including two calls to the owner, they agreed to charge us only for the calls that connected. Much safer to use the phone downstairs if you have to! All in all though, we would highly recommend this place.close

Breakfast is great, location is excellent, right by the harbour. The chain was broken on our door so we were a little concerned about security but overall we had a nice stay.

Great deal for the money. Room was tiny but had character. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and the full breakfast (several hot selections) made up for it. Watch out when ordering a beer at the bar, we were more than a little surprised at the $8 draft!

It was a CAN$10 cab ride to the club district and also smack dab in the centre of Old Montreal. This place really does the trick if you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't intend on spending a lot of time in your hotel room. There were three of us in the room and we all knew what the other one was doing in the bathroom... still, it is a private bathroom and because I've stayed in even smaller rooms in European hostels I thought this was great. The breakfast is an unexpected highlight and the staff was fairly nice. Just don't expect the Ritz if you are not paying for the Ritz!close

The rooms are small but provide all the basic necessities for a quiet and comfortable stay. The staff are friendly enough and helpful if you have any questions, the location is good (about a 15 mins. walk from the bus terminal and 10 mins. from the nearest subway stop), Old Montreal is right on your doorstep and my friend and I had no problems walking to downtown Montreal from the hotel. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and the hotel is very safe, secure and CLEAN! The breakfast is pretty good too. :-)close

We arrived at the hotel at around 6am on the day of arrival, but we did not know that the hotel was not opened until 7am. There was a little mistkae during booking so the hotel staff sent us to another hotel on their account. The staff is very nice and friendly, it is sure I will visit them again.
