The Maison du Patriote was wonderful. In a great location, well run, and with lots of character as one might expect in Montreal. The hostel itself was quiet, and the street noise was not a problem thanks to the supply of earplugs thoughtfully provided. Definitely recommended - and it's on Rue St...

Our window faced street with night clubs, so was pretty noisy whole weekend nights. Otherwise everything else ok.

The staff were non existent, apart from the housekeeper. I arrived at about 6pm and no staff were there so I couldn't check in, didn't find out until the day after that I was supposed to go to another address around the corner to check in. Poorly run and unprofessional.

Nice little hostel convenient to everything. The beds in the dorms are curtained off into small areas, which gave you a nice bit of privacy. I would defiantly stay here again.

Auberge charmante mais absence totale de personnel. Le déjeuner, soit disant inclus, est souvent inexistant. Une bonne adresse tout de même pour une nuit ou deux.

Super cute little hostel. Amazing location and staff was really helpful. Very relaxed comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again. Kitchen is lacking a lot. Street can be pretty loud, especially on garbage day (Monday).

Great location and lots of character. The rooms are great but a bit loud because the walls are thin. If you have people who are loud, don't expect to sleep. The hostel manager, however, was amazing. He was very considerate and accommodating. We were glad to have chosen this hostel. Great value...

it was hard to check-in and the lack of staff on duty made other guests act like they were the boss of the hostel and made us feel unwelcome as they sat on the computer all night and put photos of josef fritzel and Jade Goody in our beverage whilst in the fridge.

Great location and cool to stay in a 200 year old room. Private room was nice, but window didn't close which made it noisy with the bar across the road. Toilet and Shower needed a good clean.

During renovations, the place is a bit scrappy, and the toilet sistern overflowed one night, spilling clean water to the level below, which isnt an isolated incident. With that fixed, the place will be a great hostel, amazing position, with a great vibe. Would definately stay there again... no...

I recommend you call them before you arrive there, just to make sure that if someone's gonna be there to check you in. Because when it's low season, there is not staff. I stayed at the Trille room, it was nice in there. It's an 8/10 hostel overall.

Can be really noisy, and staff aren't there in the evening, but it's very pretty and the private room I had was perfect, and very reasonable (winter rates I think). Would definitely recommend a private room, though the dorm is large and doesn't look very private.
