Lockout is a real pain, meaning you can only check in after 5:30pm. Has potential. Kitchen was useful and not too far from Mont Royal metro station.

There was a dog in the hostel that was left alone by the owner and barked like crazy when I tried to leave and almost bit me. When I came back later there was a muzzle on the dog. I also have allergies and it would have been nice to be informed that there were pets there. The reception...

Oh, and the owner showed us a parking space and told us we could leave the car there for our entire stay without moving it, but I was ticketed because...well, he was wrong. Overall, two thumbs down. =(close

It's a little good. The only shortcoming is the location. It's a little far from downtown and the other things to see. The staff was good but his dog is not friendly.

Very Friendly, loved the location! The dog attacked my friends face, but as long as you stay out of his way skippy is okay with you.

We booked a private double with shared washroom and got a suite with private washroom and kitchenette for the same price. That suite in the house around the corner has no wireless though. We had to go to the main hostel area to get the internet access. Anyway we spent a couple quiet nights here.close

A very nice hostel with great character. The rooms are simple and the wifi internet is great! The major downfall is the ridiculously late check-in time (5pm) as this cost me a whole day which I could of spent exploring montreal. Also they need to accept Credit Cards, other than that a great hostel!!

Staff extremely helpful! Needed to park our car and he walked out onto the street to help us find a park! There is not much hot water though, which was a bit annoying but still a great stay!

Great living room area which was good to meet people. Room was really really small though and you have to pay a dollar for 12 minutes on the internet.

you have to pay 15doll if you want to leave your bag at the hotel before 5pm, which may be a bad news. The day after the chech out is at 11am... You also have to pay 5box if you stay less than 2 nights.

excellent location and very close to the metro, I drove into the city and never once had to drive my car or worry about it being safe in the neighborhoods near by. I highly reccomend this place (even though I have stayed in hostels with more comfortable beds...)

the manager was grumpy, there was a $15 fee for checking in before 5pm that we hadn't been told about, it was unclean, and there was noone to even open the dorr for us when we arrived. we changed hostels.

the neiboughood is amazing. I like walking along the streets enjoying the houses, stairs, and gardens. But it is a little bit far from the downtown. you need to walk at least 30 minutes to Saint Catherine street.

There were two toilets, but only one was unlocked and it had a rather foul smell the whole weekend. But the hosts there were so friendly and funny. The carpenter magician was a hoot!

The dog was up barking from 10pm til midnight - a little white beast that jumped off a chair and nipped my hand, and nipped at a few others as well! It's brutally squeaky floors and cheesy, unkept common areas, kitchen and rooms were crap. overall: dirty crap.

Pierre and his dog Skippy are a riot, absolutely fabulous. The quarters are tight and there isn't much privacy. We really liked the atmosphere though and the availability of the common room and the kitchen. All in all it was a very good hostel experience.
