   This is a seriously impressive Gothic cathedral right in the centre of Milan and surrounded by uber chic designer clothes shops. They use long white tapered candles, which you dont see in many... more This is a seriously impressive Gothic cathedral right in the centre of Milan and surrounded by uber chic designer clothes shops. Inside its pretty standard cathedral fare, lots of extremely impressive statues, obelisks and monuments. They use long white tapered candles, which you dont see in many other places now (for safety reasons i guess) and the overall feeling was one of an eerie almost reverent silence. The outside however is really impressive, you can go right onto the roof and climb amongst the many spires. The detail on the outside is simply unbelievable and its hard to imagine how long it must have taken to create the entire building.close

   Just a short walk from Duomo Cathedral the castle is pretty impressive, complete with moat and drawbridge. The interior courtyards are large and the sound travels easily, meaning I could catch most of what the tour bus beside me were being told by their personal guide and it was interesting... more Just a short walk from Duomo Cathedral the castle is pretty impressive, complete with moat and drawbridge. The interior courtyards are large and the sound travels easily, meaning I could catch most of what the tour bus beside me were being told by their personal guide and it was interesting stuff. In existence since the 14th Century the castle has been Spanish, Austrian, French and of course Italian owned. There are some cool art and antique exhibitions that are free to the public and its open 7 days a week.close
