the city has a great night life good food but is not the place to travel in itally when on a budget. The value for your money is not great, except at hotel due giardini, fab. Also besides the \"last supper,\" which requires a reservation way in advance there isnt much to see in milano unless you have a million burning a hole in your pocket.

The traffic in Milan is crazy. The winters are quiet cold so bring a good coat with you. Taxi fares are very expesive so go for the public transport that is not so bad. Food is great but a little bit expensive. If we talk about shooping, we are talking about Milan one of the main cities for designers' shop, get your credit card ready!!! There are not as many momument of thing to do as there are in Rome or Florence but still few thing to visit.

Milan is a great city for shopping, that is the only reason i would visit. I find the hotels over priced, the people unfriendly and aloof and the bars not great. However the shops are fantastic and so i go here once a year with my Italian friend. The cappuchinos are good too!

TRAIN TICKET MACHINES FOR METRO VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND THOSE PESKY BEGGARS WHO HOVER ABOUT TRYING TO 'HELP' DON'T HELP BUT GRAB YOUR CHANGE AT THE END!!! WHERE ARE THE PERSONAL CASHIERS AT WINDOWS LIKE AT THE MAIN TERMINI!!!? HAVING TO PRE BOOK ONLY FOR DA VINCI IS RIDICULOUS...WE CAME ALL THIS WAY TO DISCOVER YOU HAD TO BOOK 2 WKS IN ADVANCE AND THERE WAS NO WAY THEY SELL TICKETS AT THE DOOR! BUT THE CASTLE WAS MAGNIFICENT!! MOST SPACIOUS AND ENJOYABLE IN ALL OF ITALY...CONGRATULATIONS! SHOPPING MALL EMANUELLE WAS WONDERFUL ESPECIALLY THE ARTISTS PAINTING AND SCULPTING ON THE DAY...I AM AN ART TEACHER AND THIS WAS FABULOUS TO SEE. ALSO THE ARTISTIC COWS EVERYWHERE IN TOWN WERE SURPRISES...BUT WHAT FOR? NO EXPLANATIONS AND NONE LED ANYWHERE??!! BUT I DID ENJOY THE MUSEUM OF THE OPERA HOUSE EVEN THOUGH TOURS OF IT WERE CLOSED TOO!!!!!

He estado cuatro días en Milán.

The city is historic and I love it! People are generally nice but be extremely careful because there are many pickpockets, especially kids, at the central station. Only ask for policemen's or station staff's help but not others'! I almost got my digital camera stolen and after my girlfriend discovered that the kids shamelessly talked to us and even cursed us. They were even supervised by adults when they tried to steal from me and there wasn't one single policeman around the piazza outside the central station while there are tons of policemen in other attractions. Anyway, keep an eye on your things and watch out for anyone who walks next to you and wants to put their hand in your pocket...

I found many nice chuches in Milan. It's a nice place to stay 2 or 3 days, but we should remember things are so expensive. It's an urbanized commercial (and tourist) city, therefore it was difficult to relax.

Milan isn't my favorite of the Italian cities. It is great if you are looking for fasion and shopping, but other than that I wouldnt recommend it. The culture is overly westernized and the streets are always crowded.

Staying in a hostel or budget hotel in Milan is sketchy. Most of them are in the hotel district just next to the train station. This is a very bad part of town. If you are going to Milan, I would pay the extra money for a nice hotel in the center of the city. It's worth the extra money for the security.

If you know where to find it there is great shopping near Sant Agostino metro stop on Sat. It's crowded and crazy, but you can get great deals. Ask locals for good places to eat, don't guess, you'll be wrong and pay more!

Direction was a bit confusing. Look for the sign Hotel Eva (Hotel Arno and Eva are in the same building). Good room size, clean, with own TV. Friendly staff. Free internet.

The center of Milan is quite beautiful with wonderful scenery and historic places. I actually had a great time in the center. However, places beyond Milan is a mess, and quite often dangerous. People in Milan are very rude and doesn't seem to like the English language.

Just d duomo which was truly spectacular. Make sure u pay that 4 euro to go onto the roof as the roof is beautiful. Other than that, there is nothing much else in Milan to see or do. One day is more than enough to do wat u have too.

People might say Milan isn't worth it unless you're shopping. Definitely not true. Nice city, great museums, very scenic. Didn't shop for a minute and loved my time there.

My only wish on leaving Milan is that someday i will win the lottery and then be able to return and do it in style!! Seriously, this is possibly one of the best places to shop in Europe. And i dont just mean high fashion, although there is plenty of it available (i spent at least twenty minutes staring longingly into the Gucci Shop!!)... They have all the well known high street brands, and the shops themselves are big and airy, they have a huge choice of clothes and ample space to try them on. As for the shoes...Italian leather as far as the eye can see.. :) Bring your credit card! The city itself isnt pretty, but for a weekend away with the girls it has everything you need. There are plenty of nice restaurants, but you do need to research them. We found a lovely jazz bar one night and a great nightclub the second.....and given that we were there midweek i was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that were out each night. If you're not a major history buff i think you will also like Milan, it hasnt go too many famous sights, but there is just enough to fit into a morning or afternoon, so you can tell the folks back home you did some cultural stuff and still had time left to hit the shops before dinner ;) For a weekend away i would definately recommend MIlan, its not too big and there is plenty to keep you occupied..just be careful you dont come home with twice as much luggage as you went out with!

To be honest, I didn't hear a lot of good things about Milan. But once I got there I liked it. There's great shopping, good nightlife down in the Navigli district and lots of good sightseeing.

There are some interesting things to do and to visit in Milano but I don't like this city at all. It's expensive without reason, not so charming and nice...Duomo is very nice and San Ambrogio too.

A few historic sights to see here and there but other than that, bring your plastic and be prepared to throw it down like a water bottle heading to the recyling depot tommorow.

There are other cities in Italy that have a greater scope for siteseeing and have more ambience. Good for die hard shoppers who are prepared to spend hundreds of pounds on a pair of shoes - but then so are other italian cities.

Somehow Milan isn\'t quite beautiful as I imagine, little bit dirty around the city, the unfriendly youths and expensive prices of foods. The interesting one is the low-cost of its transportation in the city and connecting train in Europe,

Milan was a depressing city. Blocks everywhere like council flats!!! Not so dangerous, but enough as all the big cities. I could never imagine myself living in those cages that they call houses. It looks like an endless ghetto. The city center was good for entertainment, shopping, fantastic restaurants but all the other Italian cities are 1.000.000 better than Milan. finally i didn't like it but despite this I would like to visit again this city. I don't know about the people from Milan but mostly they are from the countryside. The attitude and the ability to recognize their faults is the greatest. They seem to care and understand.

Although not really a touristy destination Milan has its fair share of awesome buildings and hundreds of decadent ancient churches. Studying at the architecture university is fantastic as you can buy trace paper and set squares at every supermarket! The underground rail system is excellent for getting places but that is the only respect in which it is excellent.

Honestly, there\'s not that much to do in Milan. I was there for one day and that was plenty. And surprisingly, there didn\'t seem to be that much good shopping! I thought there were more and better stores in Venice. Of course, Milan does have La Scala, so if you can see an opera there it makes the whole trip worth it.

Crowds of tourists, and apparently a paradise with a large number of outlets. Culturally rich; and in the meantime safety could actually be a concern.

This is not a hostel, but rather a one-star hotel. That said, it was very clean and had a private bathroom with shower. Right near the train station, so it is perfect if you are taking a train or need to get to the airport early in the morning, which I did, so I was out of there at 3 a.m. to catch a shuttle from the train station to the airport. If you aren't leaving the next day ridiculously early, though, stay somewhere else... it is, in the end, a sketchy one-star hotel.

It\'s a culture and shoping city. If you want to spend lots of money, this is the right place for you. All the best shops and trademarks are here. Can\'t miss Il Duomo and Castelo Sforzesco.

Well, the city itself is relatively expensive compared to some other areas of Italy. The Duomo is beautiful, but there isn\'t much else to see inside the city, unless you\'re interested in shopping. They have quite a few buses and trams, but they are difficult to navigate, and the train station is a mess! Very poorly marked. I\'m sure the weather is better outside of December.
