Every available wall space is... more We found la Briciola by chance, having wandered around the area for some time, and as it was the most crowded restaurant in the vicinity we decided to give it a try. The first things that strikes you when you go in is that the owner loves being photographed. Every available wall space is covered with photos of Gianni, the owner and the various clientele (famous or otherwise) of the restaurant. The decor (besides the photos) is warm and inviting. I wish i could say the same for the waiter. This is obviously a bit of a celeb hangout and we could tell they didnt really want to seat us, but obviously decided it was a quiet night and so they would suffer our presence. And that was exactly what the waiter seemed to be doing,, grudgingly explaining dishes and looking at the door each time it opened to see if someone, anyone better would come along... The food however was really tasty, Carpaccio, pasta, Gnocchi, and the wine was fabulous (Austrian Pinot Grigio..Yum!). They passed round jars of meringues and chocolate shortbread with coffee which i thought was a nice touch (although i could see the waiter deciding whether or not to give them to us...he could already tell we were going to be poor tippers. He was right) There were obviously some Italian celebs there, as we could see the Milanese diners looking around them and whispering furiously and certainly there were some very glamourous tables around. All in all it was a different evening, the food was nice, but i wouldnt go again unless in the company of an Armani Suit and some diamonds!close
