This are is walkable from the Duomo and has the best choide of restaurants, bars and nightlife. In true milanese style the locals parade the cobblestoned streets. A great place to people watch is bar brera, located in the main section of the brera on a corner it offers a super view, the drinks are pricey but that is to be expected in milan. Go for apertivo hour and get some nibbles brought to your table.close

Bar Brera can be found just a short walk from the Gallaria Vittorio Emanuele which houses some of Italys big fashion names and their equally expensive bags, clothes and shoes. We went for the famous 'Aperitivo' hour, usually between 6 and 7 where you will find a great selection of buffet... more Bar Brera can be found just a short walk from the Gallaria Vittorio Emanuele which houses some of Italys big fashion names and their equally expensive bags, clothes and shoes. We went for the famous 'Aperitivo' hour, usually between 6 and 7 where you will find a great selection of buffet style food. With a bottle or two of wine, this is a great (and cheap) way to start your night out. Inside is quite small, so most people prefer the outside table. A word of warning though, if you go to Milan, make sure you dont have a phobia of birds. I mean this seriously as one of our party had. Pidgeons, Sparrows and starlings, hop fearlessly across the tables and will perch on you, the chair, and even the plate. Between trying to keep the birds away from Joan and trying to stop her screaming because everyone kept looking over, it was a pretty eventful evening!close
