The classic Richmond Hotel sits in the heartof Miami Beach's Art Deco District, directly on theAtlantic with a palm-lined swimming pool and spa betweenthe hotel and the beach. The Art-Deco Richmond is probably thelast of the local, family-owned hotels still operated byits original family. Built in 1941, the restored andmodernized hotel remains a great example of thearchitecture of the World War II period. The location isexcellent - just three blocks from Lincoln Road with itsbistros and abundant shops and, of course, close tothe glitz and glamour of South Beach's clubs, boutiquesand cafes.
Guests can work out in the hotel'sfitness center, swim in the outdoor pool or half-moonspa pool, and then loll around on umbrella-shaded chairsand loungers. Just past the area, guests will discover aprivate walkway leading to the beach, where they canrent loungers and cabanas. The hotel's rooftop alsofeatures a terrace and a solarium. The Richmond'sVerandah Restaurant serves espresso and breakfasts.Although the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant forlunch and dinner, guests can find plenty other diningoptions around the area.
