Pluses: Friendly helpful staff, good location, cheap prices. Minuses: Booked 8 bed dorm, was actually 16 beds (partioned with 1 door), not very clean (squashed cockroaches on bathroom floor).

it's a terrible place. i wouldn't even recommend it to my biggest enemy. there were bed bugs, mold in every corner, filthy showers and bath rooms, holes in the walls, the door didn't lock, etc. etc. in a nutshell: don't get even close to that "hostel".

A little noisey if your looking to get some early sleep, but don't fret your at South Beach you shouldn't be trying to get some early sleep.

I really recommend this hostel! Its just 2 streets from the best beach! There's a helpful staff and lots of fun in the evenings. It looks like this place lives!

The staff was extremly rude and impolite. It was dirty, but very dirty. We asked for room for 4 and they gave us a room for 6, even when we talked to the manager about the amount of people that are about to be in our room, because, before the 6-th person come in, we were already five. Awful

A few bugs and no air conditioning in the bathrooms, but otherwise pretty nice place. The women's bathrooms have locks on them, which is smart, but otherwise security isn't too strong. Check in can take awhile, but the free drink in exchange is nice.

This is a really nice place for holidays (only 2 blocks from the beach) or to meet some people (bar open until 4am). The bathroom is not very clean but their is lockers in the rooms (take a padlock), the area is safe and their is a shuttle to go to the airport. I recommand this hostel.

decent hostel, great location but staff were neither friendly nor helpful. also, some of my clothes disappeared from my bag!! the security lockers were only big enough to hold wallets, cameras, phones etc...

big lockers for luggage missing, book exchange would be nice. More power sockets in the rooms, wireless internet. Big plus for laundry machines

They seem to be upgrading it since it was taken over, but the rooms are really small. We were lucky to just be 2 people in a six place dorm. althought they are renovating, they still manage to always have the place clean and tidy. the location is awesome if you plan on just hanging at the beach and chilling on ocean drive etc. the staff were lovely, helped us organise tours, always available. cheap beers too!

By far the worst hostel we've ever stayed in all places traveled. I was not told that I would pay an additional tax in the hostel.I paid 4-5$ more than I expected.Hostel would be in a better condition. I was disappointed by the building. But the receptionist(mid age guy) was very kind, friendly and helpful.

Had such a great time at this hostel, the time went way to quick. The staff were so helpful and friendly which makes such a difference to where you are staying. We made such good friends with everyone that was there......it was so sad to leave. Staff and guests were up playing loud music and shouting until 6am every day we were there which we found very inconsiderate especially when people were getting early flights - understand hostels are lively but never been to one like this where there was no respect for other guests

not the greatest hostel a lot of people just living there as cheap rent. i advise to stick to jazz hostel around the corner - it's closer to the beach and can go up in price a little from time to time but alot more bang for your buck

We were in a 6 people group (3 couples) and our room had bugs, cockroaches and was dirty with things left from previous guest (cigar, pack of matches). Dorms were over crowded & even at people living in them, getting up at all hours to go to work. The lockers are tiny & as there is a bar downstairs anyone can get into the corridors. The dorms & private rooms at the Tropics are much better.
