Mexico City is full of historical sites. Zocolo is the center of old Mexico City right on the main square across the street from the Catedral Mayor. The cathedral is a must see and takes from thirty minutes to an hour and a half, depending on the depth of your interest.
Just behind the cathedral is an archeological site and a museum where Aztec temples have been uncovered. Teotihuacan, the pyramids of the sun and the moon. A two hour trip from Zocolo by tour bus. The price is about 600 pesos per person if you include lunch. Wear shorts, sun screen and climbing shoes. If you take your time, you can make it to the top of both pyramids. This whole site is a must see for any one who is even close to the area. Plan on a whole day for this excursion.
Xochimilco Is where the canal gardens still produce flowers and vegetables for sale. An interesting trip to see how things have been done for centuries. This trip will cost about 300 pesos per person and can take a whole day |

Soooo much to do in Mexico City that we are planning to go back soon. You must go to the Teotihuacan Pyramids. They are breathtaking. The Zocalo is endlessly interesting. Tons of things in one spot to do and see ! |

Definitely worth going to, it is not as dangerous or dirty as some people will tell you. Make certain to take a day trip to Teotihuacan, the giant pyramids in the area. Also, the Folklore Ballet only performs on Wednesdays and Sundays. |

Mexico gets a bad rap in terms of safety, but when equipped with a little common sense, it offers nothing but good times, great food, diverse cultural activities, and an unforgettable time. |
|
|
 |
Its filthy, easy to get around and lots to see, but not somewhere you want to stay for long. |
|
|
 |
The people are very friendly despite being a capital city |
|
|
 |
Didn't stay long here so some aspects are difficult for us to comment on with any degree of accuracy or confidence.
Be prepared for lots of noise, people, cars and quite a bit of pollution. Seemed very cheap to the US and Canada where we arrived from. |

The most important thing is, whatever other people say, Mexico City is safe! |

The best part of Mexico City is the museums. It has fantastic museums, expecially the Museum Of Anthropology. |

good hotel but very loud! |

But bring some cough drops as the air pollution will give you a sore throat if you aren't used to it. |

Mexico City has an undeservedly bad reputation sometimes. It's pretty safe, the people are very friendly and the city is very pretty itself. Common sense goes as in every major city in the world. |

We´ve spent about 5 days in Mexico City and we´ve enjoyed it very much. This city is huge, but you don´t feel it when you stay in it.There are milions of small shops and placese to eat on every street, people are really kind and nice, trying to help with your questions...We were using the tube (underground) very ofen, it´s bit crowded, but as in other big cities. It´s very very cheep and quick way of moving in a town and we didn´t find it dangerous.Taxis are cheep as well, but it takes you more time to move with it, because of often traffic jams. Recomended places-archeological musem, museum of Frida Kahlo, Teothiuacan,... |

Mexico City has everything for everyone. It the New York City of Mexico. Many bars stay open until almost dawn. There is great Ballet, live theater, and concerts for over half the price of what the same quality of entertainment would cost in the USA. I also enjoy the musuems in Chapultapec Park; the Anthropology Museum is a must see. In the Zocalo, the murals of Diego Rivera in the National Palace are also something to see. And in the same area, one can visit Templo Mayor. There is so much to do in the City that one can write an entire book just on this city alone: therefore, I will cut this short and conclude with encouragement to go and expericence this city if you ever get the opportunity.
The only disappointment for me is the food. I actually like Mexican food in the United States better...the quality of food in Mexico City iis not the same as in the USA....that is just my personal opinion... |

Other than the constant changes in weather, Mexico City has been a great place to be on our Round Mexico trip. I've had an excellent time here. The Metro is possibly the best transport service in the world. Always clean and so cheap! |

Great place--certainly an up and coming cultural center of the world. Not as preened as NYC, but a neat, real place with lots of personality, culture, food, and nice, cool weather. |

Everyone we knew warned us against going to Mexico city, telling us that we would be kidnapped, mugged, beaten up and conned. Well, we went anyway and none of the above happened us. Like any big city you need to keep your wits about you and we were fascinated by the pace and cultural mix in this huge metropolis.
There's plenty to see and do, just make sure you get the offical guides and taxis (if you chose to go down this route)- its definitely worth it. The only warning that I would give is to watch out in the evenings as the streets seem to empty and it's quite spooky after the hordes of people that are around during the day. Me and my female friend didn't venture out once it got dark and chose to stay put in our hotel!
But I loved this vibrant city and would go back again tomorrow if I could! |

DF is huge but managable. Although people warned me about eating streetfood, the food sold on small markets is cheap and delicious.
Make sure you speak a little spanish, the locals are always happy to help you. |

It\'s difficult to explain the amazing experience i had in Mexico City. I recommend to give the city a longer lump of your time than you normally would. it is a city that continually unravels itself for you, in foods - people - sights - history - etc.
Whether you prefer walking through Coyoacan on a weekend, Xochimilco, San Angel, The University, Zocalo, the Bosque de Chapultapec, Teotihuacan, etc. one of the largest cities in the world really will express itself to you if you give it the time. |

Everythings great, the people the architecture, the aarcheological sites, food, museums, etc. |

Mexico is a box of surprises, but not for the people that look down at it... it is full of culture, history, dynamism and \'charme\' and a deep national identity. The food is incredible (not like the edulcorated and chemically charged Tex-Mex version that you find everywhere), the pleople is joyfull, educated, helpful and proud of their country, they will go the extra mile to show it to you... anyway... go and try to blend in... and you will fall in love with it.

great city. very safe. great transport options. keep safe by looking like you know where you are going. people here wont bother you. sooo much to see you really need more than a week. the city is highly polluted is probably the only drawback. also, as with any other city, be careful of your bags. never leave them out of your sight. enjoy D.F. it will be worth it. |
