It depends on what ones want. For us it was not the perfect place as it was crowded by young travellers haning around in the yard making noice. The bathrooms and facilities were cleand and new and for those who like the backpacking-surrounding this might be the perfect place.

Nice engouh hostel but a bit expensive for what you actually get, very basic breakfast and outside toilets and bathrooms in average condition. Staff are friendly and the tours are reasonably cheap and well organised. Not much of a social scene here with the 11:30 lights out policy.

Good base for the ruins around Merida. Not the best position on a busy street when you have the dorm on it. Staff was great and they give you quiet alot of information about merida and the surrounding areas. Lastly, not a youth hostel. More people over 40 than youths.

The travelers hanging out here for extended stays and all new arrivals make this place an experience worth sharing.

The fact that they don't allow liquor at the hostel and have a 11pm curfew in a town where there isn't really much going on at night was a real downer. The majority of people in the hostel seemed to resent these rules and it made the place considerably less fun to be in.

Great hostel for backpackers. It has everything you could need: kitchen, water, clothesline, handwashing, etc. Also great tour services. It isn't fancy, just bunkbeds and sheets. But if you are looking for a genuine Mexican experience, it's a great, affordable option.

A Good walk from the bus station. However this hostel is centrally located close to the historic district. Breakfast and internet computer terminal is a plus!

auberge de jeunesse typique très agréable et accueillante. localisation idéale dans la ville de Mérida. Les cours de salsa gratuits tous les soirs de la semaine sont une chance. Idéal pour vivre à la mexicaine. filipe et sara

It is a great place to meet new people and you can try yourself in cooking skills. Their chill-out places are the best. It will be even more amazing when they finish the pool.

Nice hostel but with a LOT of rules - though they seem to keep the place running smoothly. Lights out in the kitchen means that they are disconnected, which was a bit of a nightmare when you're trying to do things very early in the morning, such as make toast.

This Catholic Hostel has a friendly staff and nice enclosed garden. The breakfast is somewhat lacking- watermelon, a banana, and small pieces of toast. The location is great- make sure to check out the zoo 5 or 6 blocks to the north!

An amazing hostel with great ambience. The only flaw if any is the lack of communal areas to access in wet weather! Comes highly recommended with very friendly helpful staff.

Overall this is a decent hostel. My main concern is that everyone I talked to complained about food and belongings being stolen. Clean place at a decent price--but just don't expect your food to stay in the fridge or your clothes to stay on the clothes lines.

Next time I'd try one of the hostels near, or even the big one at the zocalo.close

This was by far the best hostel experience I had while traveling through Mexico. It was clean and well-organized. The dorm was adequately cooled off with a number of fans. The hammock garden was a lovely place to chill out, and the hand-wash laundry facilities, as well as kitchen were nice...
