It would have been 3 but unfortunately they were full, so the guy went to the trouble of finding my group another hostel just down the road. Very accommodating. Considering its off an alleyway near the Djeema al Fna its difficult to find, especially at night. You could probably find a cheaper hostel, as we stayed in a relatively nicer one in Essaouira for 10 euro a night, but for the service we were still satisfied. Thanks!close

The riad is very central, but hidden enough that you can have a space to escape the madness of the souks and night market - which you need at times. The terrace is great for sunbathing and at night is a nice spot to listen to the enchanting sounds from the mosques and perhaps sample some of Marrakech's rose wine. The staff are very friendly and helpful, organising trips as well as helping with bartering and getting you good deals, which can be hard when you have TOURIST stamped on your head - so this is invaluable. We were made to feel very welcome with a 'my house is your house' ethos and had breakfast every morning (pancakes, honey, bread, butter, juice and mint tea...mmm) and insisted feeding us even when we had to get up at 4am to get our plane. We were very lucky to have found them for our trip and plan to return.close

Great location, and the rooms are perfect, however both nights we were kept awake until 1am from people chatting outside in the courtyard..which is extremely frustrating. Any noise made just echos through the area? and I felt the staff could have wrned people about this.

Supposedly the deposit goes to a middle man they use and he never tells them about the 'Reservation.' When I showed my print off reservation form from hostel world, the receptionist told me they could do nothing and showed me many other peoples print offs who this has also happened to. Luckly we found a much, much nicer place to stay called 'Riad Princess,' so all worked out. This is a fine Riad but for the money it costs you can sleep much better in Marrakesh, without facing the worry of being screwd over.close

They did find another guesthouse for us, which was in fact just a family house nearby with a small room and bathroom, very noisy. Riad Adraoui though is a relatively nice looking place, nice inner court. The rooms are not spacy, the bathrooms are very dirty, as well as the carpets. Thankfully the bed sheets were clean. Tthere was no hot water and the staff speak only French. Their meal prices are outrageous, and food on Jamaa al Fna is muuuch more worth it.close

The staff were nice enough to give us another room for the night at riadh adraoui and the next day we walked round the local riadhs(with a guide from the hostel) looking for a room for the next two nights. 'no room at the inn' eh!. We eventually got one called Simons Place i think (it had no title really) a few lanes down the main street. I have yet to receive an explanation as to why this happened (the hostel said 'take it up with hostel world as they have the money') and ive yet to have my deposit back. I would urge those using this site to get their booking confirmed again as close to their date of arrival to avoid this happening.Take the printout with you too. It worked out ok for us but with a bigger group or with kids it could be a real pain.close

This would not have been a problem in summer, but there were not enough blankets. Also the room did not appear to be cleaned with cigarette butts left on both bedside tables and hair in the sheets in the bed. The internet pictures give a very wrong image to this place. Its deep inside a dark alley very difficult to be found. There was no hot water. 3 girls staying next room to us before we arrived also confided that they were sick and tired as there had been no hot water for past 3 days and it was very cold. Night temperature was 4 to 5 degrees celsius but there was no heating in the room.It was freezing cold. There are no cabinets, almirah to keep the clothes. There is no separate door to lock the bathroom. Its just separated by mere curtains and the WC and shower are next to each other , very dirty. Its also quite expensive and not worth the price it asks for. On the Riad Square, there are other hotels like MCT Hotel which only charge 6GBP per person per night includes breakfast, night hot shower and its located right on the RIAD SQUARE, safe and secured. It can be booked upon arrival as they have plenty of rooms and worth the price. Upon complaining to Mr.Hassan(incharge of Riad Adroui) He says his Riad is the best and negotiated with me not to put bad and true picture of this hotel on hostelworld else he would charge me for all 4 nights. It was a clear blackmail. Sincere advise to fellow people and tourists, DO NOT GO HERE else u will SUFFER!close
