We had an enjoyable stay at this hostel. Great location and staff. The double room we booked was meant to have a private ensuite. Although the room contained a shower, the toilet was shared. The owner happily moved us as other rooms were available.

Tip - I would definitely take the offer of a taxi to pick you up on arrival - it could be hard to find!close

Great location, tucked in the catacomb like alleys of the medina with great views from the rooftop garden/lounge. Mohamed was an excellent host and chef. His tajines are delicious. Close to the souqs, the Fna and many of the 'sights'. Great ambience and clean unique rooms with lots of character.

At £35 a night (€45) it is not cheap in comparison with some other tourist accommodation in Marrakech. You do get what you pay for though and this was no exception to that rule. Owner Michelle is hugely hepful, thoroughly professional and very friendly. She will tell you which places are worth visiting, what to avoid and will give you very useful directions to find your way to Jema El-Fnaa and back to the guesthouse. The house itself is an oasis of tranquility. Its decoration is simple, elegant and tasteful. We stayed in the smallest room. It is a great room with air conditioning, a good shower (sometimes cold), a table, poofs and shelves for your clothes downstairs. The bed is on a separate level within the room (accessed via a safe wooden ladder). It is a good size, comfy and warm. I would say that Douarskoll, however, has two real plusses. Firstly, there is an elegant rooftop balcony which is ideal for relaxing and reading books. It also has lights for the nighttime and great views out to the main square and the mosque. Secondly, the breakfasts are very hearty and tasty and are included in the price - mint tea or coffee, freshly baked bread from the local market and sometimes pancakes with jam and delicious goat's milk butter. I would unreservedly recommend this place to anyone wishing to relax away from Marrakech's hustle and bustle!close
