Pop Hostel was in a cool part of town (Check out Ojala, just 2 blocks away on the same street). It smells like a fish market in the stairwell up to the hostel, but when you get there, it smells like cigarette smoke. Overall a pretty good hostel, nothing outstanding in an awesome way or really bad either. Good kitchens and location.

Great hostel conveniently located within walking distance of many attractions. Only complaint was the bunk beds seemed weak and swayed alot when climbing on/rolling over.

The location is very central, very convenient; Staff and security were OK. The quiet hours (night) are not respected though,so it was very noisy in the hostel. The bunk beds are not very good quality so if the person in the bed upstairs or downstairs move all the bed move and you wake up.

The staff were wonderful. When I was blackout drunk on Halloween the desk attendant let my friends make several international calls to try to locate me. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Internet is a little slow but works

There is a nightclub nearby playing music most nights until 6am. I didn't meet anyone who was able to sleep through that. This is not the fault of the hostel, of course, but made for a pretty miserable stay.

basic. its a place to sleep. u get free breakfast. do the pub crawl and the free walking tour. kinda hard to find so take a map with you. you have to ask for bedding when u arrive.

tiny cramped rooms, one toilet and shower for everyone, people were smoking and drinking till late so it was impossible to sleep and the staff spoke no english. dont stay here.

I liked the place a lot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It´s near the metro station. For one euro you have security lockers. Bad thing: People use to smoke inside the hostel (not in the bedrooms... but the smoke goes everywhere...) But I think it's a normal thing in Spain: People... more I liked the place a lot. its an ok place to stay, nothing special but if you're only there for a few nights its fine. Bit noisy and the computers are really slow and have a habit of crashing. Other than that, the beds were clean and that's all you need, really.

One toilet and shower for everyone was a bit of a stretch, but on the whole a really great hostel with good atmosphere... Just have your shower at night!

You should tell people there are 3 flights of stairs to the entrance... 3 flights with a heavy bag and no elevator is strenuous.

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel however i believe more attention needs to be paid to security. When I put my luggage in the store room on my final day I was unsupervised and there was no lock on the door, the same thing happened when i picked my luggage up.

Good value hostel not too far from Gran Via. We were upgraded from a 4 bed dorm to a private room - very happy campers. Smoking allowed inside which isnt so good, but it is spain!

Nice hostal, just a 5 minutes walk from the Gran Vía and close to Puerta del Sol and main attractions of Madrid. A continental breakfast is included. Staff and people were friendly. The bunk beds were a bit unstable and squeaky.

This hostel provided a safe, clean and friendly atmosphere. Close to the main street (walking distance) and the hostel provided alot of information about the sites and events happening in and around Madrid.
