We are living n a quite technological world, so one plug for electricity in the room of six people is realy not enough for charging our cell-phones. And the second. It would be nice to have some warm water for brushing my teeth. But... I reali like the "living room"....

Easy enough to find. Good location & clean. But the strange little keys (which are designed to wear like a wristwatch, rather than fit in a pocket) were always frustrating to use when unlocking the door took a number of attempts. Also be aware that the rooms are a bit tight for space - 4 people couldnt all stand up at the same time in our 4 bed dorm, and there isnt much space between a bottom bunk & top bunk either.close

A great hostel will stay again when I go to madrid. Only downside was the lack of bedding as it was really cold that weekend and they had to put the heating on instead. But the staff were excellent and friendly and will recommend this place to anyone going to Madrid!

Excellent hostel highly recommend. Only beef is they shut down the drinks in the common room at midnight. Its open til 3 but you cant bring in outside alcohol and they turn off the beer vending machine (which is sweet that they have one though!)

Hotel très sympa, pas cher et plutot propre et sécurisé. Prevoir les boules quies quand il y a des groupes scolaires qui séjourne à l'hotel. Très bien placé (près de la gare et des principaux musées).

Great Place and yes it is Mad great communal area and security to the rooms and your own large locker locker to your own security key, staff are great lots of Aussies and Americans there Great fun Thanx Guys Thumbs Up.

The hostel could offer a better breakfast. I stayed in other hostels who charged the same price and the breakfast was better, with bread, cheese, ham, juice, etc... but in a general way, the mad hostel is a very nice and clean hostel to stay.

The rooms and beds are tiny, people are allowed to smoke in the common room and there is no ventilation. the kitchen is so tiny it only has 2 saucepans. The worst hostel Ive stayed at!

There are hours for when everything is open, including the kitchen. Do we really need a curfew? Downstairs bar/room nice for hanging out/socializing. Clean! Has elevator and laundry. Staff not so friendly compared to other hostels. Overall, not too bad for a hostel.

communal area is spacious and comfortable but has no atmosphere; everyone keeps to themselves. dorms were cramped and there is only 1 washing machine and 1 dryer for such a large hostel

We thoroughly enjoyed our breif visit. The 17 yr old in the group was a bit concerned about the rough looking area you are located in, myself and my friend (43 and 52) are more experienced travellers and weren't so concerned

The night staff were not very helpful or friendly at all. If you dont run it them then the rest of the staff are ok. As for the hostel as it is a big one they should consider cleaning the bathrooms more often.

Rooms are small but the hostel is always clean. Lots of noise can penetrate the rooms if there are people talking in the courtyard area or coming and going loudly during the night. Although good value for money, laced a lot of atmosphere that I find in many other hostels.

Mad Hostel was the only disappointment on our trip through Spain. The dorms and beds are tiny – reminded me off my time in the military. The fabric attached to the frame of one of the bunk beds was torn and hung right into the lower bed. Bathroom door was broken. staff were really helpful after my flight was cancelled and arrived a day late. breakfast was really good, kitchen was rather dirty. if you don't like smokers, then i wouldn't suggest staying here - you can smoke in the downstairs bar.

Apart from the annoying group of students that were there at the time, this hostel was SO MUCH FUN!!! staff were helpful and you have to do the free walking tour, tapas tour and pub crawl. best way to experience madrid!!!

Really nice hostel, walking tour and tapas tour was great fun and I heard that the bar crawls were good too. If you stay at Mad you can use the bar at Cats hostel which was also great! Met loads of nice people, would def come back.

all in all it was a good place to sleep. The downstairs chillout room is good and they have a kitchen.Altough if u would like to drink and mingle abit ur best bet is to go round the corner to thier sister hostel CAT´s just let them know ur from mad and uĺ be sweet

This place stank! It was dirty and the shower facility is crap, there is no place to hang a towel let alone move in the tiny cubicles. It was overrun by german teenagers on a school trip and was noisy. The rooms were tiny, like being in a coffin and the magnetic locks on the door were very hard...

This was THE BEST hostle I have ever stayed in, hands down! It was beautiful and clean and had great facilities including free use of the washing machines and driers, they even give you the soap!!

Great place, but very very busy when i went so that meant always a crowd in the kitchen and in the bathrooms, and people staying there weren't particularly social...but that is just chance. nice place, clean and safe

The rooms are very very small, as is the kitchen that really only services one person cooking at a time. The internal courtyard creates an echo chamber for any noise at night. It was sufficient for two nights and we were happy to just try and sleep there as Madrid had plenty to offer outside of...

Being backpacking for 6 months straight, and this would have to be one of the most average hostels i have stayed in through europe. was expecting much better with all the hype. tiny beds, squashed rooms, very poor dark common room and lousy breakfast.
