You can't beat the location. You are 50m from Plaza Mayor and less than 5 mintues from Puerto del Sol. You can walk anywhere from here or grab the Hop on/Hop Off near the hostel. Can get loud at night if you are in a room off the main lobby.

The location is close to Plaza Mayor and close to many restaurant. The restaurant that attached to the hostal is really good. Not only the price is a good deal, plus the services & quality is good too.

However the rooms are small, this hostel is one of the best we visited: perfectly situated (between Plaza Mayor & Puerta del Sol, really clean and the staff was very funny and friendly.

Very nice, kind staff. Very clean. Superb location, right in the city centre! Wasn't noisy at nighttime. Overall a great place, and excellent value for money.

One of the guys there was pretty rude, but that was one out of three, so it wasn't too bad. It was really close to La Plaza Mayor and it was really clean. One of the rooms smelled of pee, but we got the good room.

I am a ardent lover of Madrid and have stayed there many times, this is by far the best hostel I've been to. Its VERY CLEAN, right next to SOL station and Plaza mayor, and very safe. Only minor complaint is that once the room smelled a bit off, but they changed me to a better one right quick.

Well, we weren't there very long as we arrived late and had to leave early for a flight, but there was somebody there to check in and out at 2am and at 7am, so I have no complaints.

This Hostal is not the ritz but for 30 euro a night it suited me down to the ground. I had my own room, with a balcony. It was small but sufficient, with a nice clean tiolet. The location is perfect. Very central. I will go back again, and reccommend you do the same.

great location, helpful staff...some rooms might be large but my ensuite single-room was quite cramped and facing the "patio" (some sort of 15ft x 7ft interior building shaft). it´s rather a low-cost hotel then a hostel (no bar or get-together area). i would stay here again if need...

My room was smaller than i expected, it had a window into a small backyard, and the heating didn´´t function, the staff tried to solve the problem, at the end i sleeped with 2 sheets. but the closeness to plaza mayor and sol was not to excel ;)

The Hostal was decorated perfectly. It was clean and light, and felt like a proper home for the two nights we stayed. The staff spoke too many languages to count and did so very well. Location was perfect. You couldn't get any closer to the Plaza Mayor, and the price was perfect.

Only issue you may need to know is the air conditioner will charge you an extra 5 euros per day, and the hot weather makes it compulsory. You can get to the Plaza Mayor in 1/2 minute, and lots of bars and restaurants around you.

Its character is more of a hotel than a hostel but the position is excellent, 30m from Plaza Mayor! If you don't expect organised activities and if you don't want to necessarily mix with other people but just see town, this is definitely a good place to stay. Price - quality is very good!

The location is really good if you want to go at night, because it's really close to everything, but if you want to sleep, than go to another place, becuase this part of the city is very noisy.

Double room and bathroom were tiny. Very good location. Quiet neighborhood. We were required to leave room key at front desk which is not always carefully guarded. Lift was broken.

the room kind of smelled like smoke and they make you pay for air conditioning, but it was in a great location and an even better price.

The only thing i wouldnt recommend is to call from the hotel, since the prices can be very expensive. Everything else is just excellent, the price we paid here for a night in a double bed with private bathroom is the same as we've paid in other hostels in a room shared with others. The best is the location! its literally steps away from plaza mayor and puerta del sol. I highly recommend it!close

This place is great all around. For the price, it doesn't get better. Only complaint is that the bathrooms are a little small, but we really didn't care about that considering we paid a hostel price for a hotel in the middle of the city.

Choose this place if you're looking for a budget hotel in the middle of the city. Only drawback is that if you have a car, parking costs about 25 euros a day at the plaza mayor parkhouse. It paid off as a group though because we didn't have to use any public transportation.

We rebooked for one night at the end of our vacation but than we received a room with a window that can't be called a window at the same price of our first stay. Aparently there is a lot of difference between the rooms.

This is my third time staying at the hostel, and it is brilliant. The staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you. Rooms have air conditioning and safety deposit boxes and the charges are very reasonable. I would not stay anywhere else in Madrid. It is more like a hotel than a hostel.
