brilliant place to stay. excellent location and massive room. felt more like a hotel than a hostel. no common area though so probably not the most social hostel.

This hostel is perfect for people in their mid-20's to mid-30's and/or for people who want a quiet stay in the centre of Madrid for a reasonable price. Perfect budget accommodation. Clean. Friendly staff. Not a party place!!

There is not much to do at the hostel, but plenty to do in the local area. The cleanliness was all right. But beware!! For some strange reason, the bathroom doors are made of glass :-) But all in all, a great place to stay and defiantly recommendable.close

Without Spanish it´s very hard to communicate with anyone of the reception-team, because they don´t speak English. That´s poor!

Hostal Marlasca is located at noisy city center, however they installed nice screen door/windows and shielded all noise, so you can have a good night sleep. The bedroom is OK, however the private bathroom door needs to be replaced in room 226.

We can recommend the hostal in spite of the following downsides: The bed was hard as a rock: severe backpains for days after our stay. The room was very cold and the nightwatch unfriendly when kindly asked to turn the heater on (centrally done). - Otherwise friendly staff. A noisy doorbell in the reception could easily be replaced with sth more quiet or a flashing light.close

The location was great, as we could walk everywhere, but there was a price to pay--that of noise! It was impossible to sleep before 3am without earplugs, which we bought. From then on, things improved and we were overall happy with the service, the rooms' old charm and the lift! You are so close to Sol metro and the rest of the attractions are within walking distance, including the shopping. I recommend it if cheapness, cleanliness and location are important to you, but in the end you get what you pay for.close

We came back to our room and the door was wide open. When we told the guy working at the desk and he laughed at us. We were obviously not laughing. Very unappologetic for their mistake! The night receptionist is a d**k. Great view of the street below from balcony. Overall, mixed review; would not return because of experience.close

Smack bang in the middle of it all, so the location was great. Quite quiet, so good for travellers not necessarily wanting to party it up with others. Rooms only get cleaned if you stay for longer than 3 days, but we were only there for a night and they cleaned it anyway, very impressed.
