An excellent hostel in one of the best places in Madrid. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Rooms were cleaned every day. A broken bed was switched immediately. I would recoomend this place to anyone!

Good location next to Plaza Mayor. Nice room. The staff don't speak much English and overcharged me and were rude about it. But a good place to stay, centrally located and reasonably priced.

More like a hotel than a hostel. Very well located near the Plaza Major and a short walk to all the main sights and one of the main metro stations.Very Clean and staff helpful , would definately stay there again.

It is next to Plaza Mayor, and that is what you pay for. Rooms are a bit depressing, but clean and we had a bathroom in our room, which was good.

It was more like a hotel than a hostel, beds made up everyday, very clean private bathroom, personal safe, desk, wardrobe, keycard, Air-Conditioning and a T.V.

I got there later than expected to find that the room I had booked months before had been given to someone else. I guess this happens regularly, as when I was sent downstairs to the Hostal Santa Cruz where the lovely man on the desk seemed to be familiar with this kind of thing. El sitio nos gusto' bastante pero dos razones por las cuales seleccione' este hostal eran: el internet wi-fi gratuito y la posicion tranquila. Y tuvimos problemas con los dos. Nos pusieron en una habitacion que no lograba alcanzar la coneccion a la red y tampoco lograban encontrar un cable LAN.... more El sitio nos gusto' bastante pero dos razones por las cuales seleccione' este hostal eran: el internet wi-fi gratuito y la posicion tranquila. Excellent hostal that could be classed as a hotel, the standard is that good. Friendly staff and perfect location, a stone's throw from Plaza Mayor. I would certainly stay here again.

This was an excellent choice for couples, room was big and we could eat and play soft music in our room. Surrounded by cafes, metro and main Plaza Mayor we thoroughly recommend this very pleasant place.

We made an excellent choice here: 1.Building had so much more character than "standard issue" hotels. 2. Very good value for money and would recommend to anyone for a short stay in Madrid. Staff do speak a little English and with our little Spanish managed to get over that would be leaving very early and required a taxi for certain time. For information: for early morning flights a bus leaves the main bus station at 5.20am-9.80 Euro taxi from Hotel to Bus Station then 1 Euro to Airport-20 Euro saving for those on a tight budget.close

I planned to stay for 6 nights, to explore Madrid and some of the surrounding towns. I ended up only staying 2, and switching to another hotel. There was a very strong chemical smell from the cleaning supplies they used that made my eyes and nose burn. I was also concerned about security. This place was a great find, very cheap and very clean, plus it couldn´t be in A better location. The staff was very polite and nice, and the room was spotless every day. Highly recommended, would stay here again in a heartbeat!
