Highly recommended. Great location and helpful staff. Some of the staff didn't speak much english but enough to get by.

It was on the doorstep of some excellent Bars, Pubs and Eateries. Right near the park, main train station and various gallerys/museums. More of a hotel than a hostel though so don't stay there if you are looking to meet other travelers as we really didn't see anyone there the whole time we stayed.close

Still, the couple running the hotel was very nice and fit me in for that one night at least, and did all they could to find me another place. Of course, they only charged me for the one night I stayed in. This says a lot! Hostal Bruna is impossibly well located, within walking distance of the Museo del Prado (literally across the street, at stone-throw distance). Plaza Mayor was 10 minutes away walking! Very close to the subway station, though I never used it because everything was so close! Rooms were kinda small but very clean, as well as the washroom. No complains! I definitely recommend this place, though it may not be suitable for those looking for the whole "hostel" experience. Hostal Bruna is more like a hotel than a hostel, so think carefully backpackers!close

Nice and quiet, but well located for exploring Madrid by foot.

Nit, clean and cozy, with a nice heater keeping itwarm. Location is superb: across the street, Prado's Museum; few blocks up, Thyssen; few blocks down, Reina Sofia Art Centre; hostel is surrounded by many bars, and a walking distance from Atocha Station, with trains or metro to all city. On a different note, I found difficult to get informations about the city with the staff, specially if you want to go to a place not so hype.close

Finally, the district very good, 2mn from Prado and Riena Sofia Museums, Atocha Station, a reasonnable distance to the center on foot and almost THE bars and restaurants district!!close

Hostal Bruna was not available so they stuck us in some other hostal in the area. While we were at the new hostal it was under construction and did not accept credit cards. We enjoyed ourselves, but if we were looking for everything to go as planed then we did not find it

It is a family-run business, and the owners are very, very nice and helpful! The room had plenty of ammenities (private bathroom/shower, tv, desk, locking wardrobe closet), and the hostel is in a convenient location close to the metro and many attractions in Madrid. Also, we were impressed that our room was cleaned daily by the staff. I would definitely stay there again!!close
