there is no wireless internet at this location.the staff are rude.if you tell them there is a problem they will insult you and say no one else is complaining.six other guests had the same experience.,location is great but don 't expect anything else.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Puerta del Sol, the staff were really friendly as were the other people staying at the hostel. The location was perfect for short breaks in Madrid as everything was within easy reach. It was also great to have the breakfast included. Great location, clean rooms, nice staff. The main room and breakfast room is a great place to meet people (which I did), or not if you do not want to. Would definitely stay again.

No fun at all (for gay or not gay peoples). The staff is not friendly. In the other hand, you are IN the place in Madrid to go out... To conclude, I will not recommand this place to stay in Madrid

Loved the great freedom. Sharing bathroom was no problem since there were not too many people to share with. After I got my keys there was no control as to what you did in the room or who you could bring to visit. Location was super.

The hostel was better than expected. We got a very large room with very large comfortable beds and a tv with cable. The bathrooms were cleaned every day so sharing bathrooms with other rooms wasn't too bad. The only issue I had was with the breakfast and the fact that it never changed day to day.... more The hostel was better than expected. I had a small single room w/shared bath...perfect for one. For the price, well worth it. Staff polite. One host kept sending me to ¨bear bars¨ which I have no interest in. Need to have gay bar guides in multiple languages to help tourists...

I stayed here with my mum...it was very clean, secure, friendly, free breakfast (basic but free!), free internet and wireless, TV in room...not a party hostel but for quiet, clean accomodation in a good location this place is perfect! dont worry if u are female, straight male, what ever, u will...

Nice, accommodating staff. Paid for a double, private. they said four of us could stay in there, if we needed. You pay for the room, not number of people. Free breakfast was a nice touch. Small bathroom though. Good location for Madrid. right in center of city.

They are certainly straight-friendly, too. (I'm a straight guy, but I chose to stay there because of the location and good reviews.) It's a great place to stay if you want find out where to party with the Spaniards instead of just fellow tourists.

This hostel should have staff working in a 24/7 environment. The main receptionist was not friendly however the support staff made up for this lack of communication/kindness. It was great to have water, Internet access, breakfast, and a lounge area. It would be a good idea to have extra...

The room is very clean and comfortable to stay. Shared bathroom is also nice, only it smells a bit strange. Spray air fresher would be nice.

A great place to stay in the heart of amazing Madrid. Feels more like a little hotel than hostel, large private rooms and included breakfast go further than usual jam&butter. Will come back soon!

This hostel was wonderful! Incredibly clean, comfortable and friendly. The location was also perfect. Also, they were really concerned with the safety and security of the people staying in the hostel - which was also nice.

Loved this place. Good chat with guests good food but the tea and coffee had to be reheated in the microwave. Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! Get a decent coffee machine and electric kettle for tea. Will be back next trip to Madrid
