It's been labeled as 'casual luxury’. This means there's no reception or staff who ONLY do one thing. When you arrive someone with a tablet [a big PDA] checks you in, gets you a drink and will check you in while you guys are chatting... amazing! One thing I will say now, I like to spend time doing my thing and not queuing. The staff wonder around and can do anything... so each helper does everything. They're your porter, local guide, room service, book you a seat at a restaurant... so there’s no hanging around! This saves you time to get out and ENJOY london or surf like I do ahaha! The Andaz hosts a very wide selection of restaurants doing pub food, seafood, sushi as well as having a champagne bar. The hotel is big with over 250 rooms, it's got a classic outside designed back in 1884 and opened as the Great Eastern. The same guy designed it who did Big Ben and the houses of parliament. Now, it has the and it is handily situated Stansted it’s right next to Liverpool Street Station. The Andaz building was originally created by Charles Barry, who designed the Houses of Parliament. The outside is classical and inside the public areas have funky lighting and a cool 'Apple ipod' like feel! As a lover of art and comedy the hotel is right on the biggie underground areas of Hoxton and Shoreditch. to get into their monthly comedy night called sabotage it's just 5 quid to get into. I repeat just 5 quid. There’s other comedy clubs nearby, but none that beats a classy venue nor that price! Inside the rooms, each room is different and the bathrooms are what you'd expect from a 5* hotel. The beds were comfortable as well. I’d recommend the weekends and quite often they have special rates as well!close
