Loch Ness is huge! Thought I could "do" the loch in 1 day but Fort Augustus (stayed @ Morags Lodge) is so much more than that and that's just one corner of the place! There's walks, great food, boat trips, castle nearby, forests, canal and friendly locals. Thought this place was just going to...more Loch Ness is huge! I was expecting the area around Loch Ness to be very exploited and full of tourists. However, since most of the tourists stay in Inverness and go for day trips to the loch, it was surprisingly tranquil. The loch is impressive and the surrounding area is beautiful. It's very quiet - perfect for a relaxing break. The nearly Urquhart Castle is also a lovely spot.close

This is some of the most beautiful country in scotland. Located in the highlands there is not much to do exept to hike and explore some of the most beautiful forests you will ever see. If you want some adventure this is the place to go. We were there in the middle of fall and beautiful leaves...

Morag's Lodge 85%
Cozy place to stay among the trees in a lovely little town. Walk to everything, just up hill a bit on the way home. Hire bath towels. Free internet. Heaps of free parking available.

4The key wouldn't work four times when I tried, but as soon as the employee tried it, it worked. That was annoying. Warning: there was nothing to do in this town.

Great Glen Hostel 83%
It is really far from many places to see around Loch Ness. But it is good for piknick and other mountain activities :-)

One if the satff just stood by side and watching us to take our Bags from checkout to our room (about 300 m outdoor).The room is fine.

4Nice place to stay away from everything for a weekend (East Lewiston is a very quiet little village). The bed didn't have the springs out of place, which is always appreciated. The only suggestion is to put a more noticeable logo in the front, because in the darkness of the night you pass by...
