We felt like we got really excellent food for our money, and people were always eager to help us find our way or chat about our travels. Even though we visited during the off-season, there were still film festivals and concerts going on ... the city felt very alive. Great views from the castle, quality museums, fresh produce market. I definitely want to return for a longer visit someday! |

This place is pretty cheap, great pubs and great sights. |

Ljubljana is so much fun. Its very beautiful looking, small enough to get around on foot, loads to keep you busy, lovely people, decently priced and close to the Julian Alps. I really loved this city. |

Very much is the Paris of the east. It's much like western europe citys only half the size and price. Canalsand a lovely castle make it a place to see, plus close proximity to the Julian alps - has it all. |

A nice relaxed town to chill out for a couple of nights. A couple of theings to see, including the castle... but not too much sightseeing within the town. Seems to be a good nightlife there too!! |

Ljublijana was a great base for seeing some of West Slovenia, as Bled, Posjonia etc were just a short train ride away.
A nice feel to the city, with it's cafe culture and markets to stroll around. But I was surprised to find shops shut at lunchtime on Saturday - even the international chains. |

Ljubljana is an incredible city. After living in the Czech Republic for the past 8 months, I finally had a chance to visit. Slovenia is now on the Euro, and it is a city that is easy on the wallet - 2.50 beers and 6.00 euro pizzas in tourist trap central on the river.
If I ever head back, I'll rent a bike for sure to get around easier, and to see more sights outside of the historic center. Ljubljana can be done afoot, but biking it would be much nicer.
If your hesitant about making the venture to Ljubljana, DO IT! You'll be surprised at the laid back atmosphere during the day on the river, the great food, and the cheap beers. Whereas other European cities feel fast paced and crowded, Ljubljana is a pleasant change. |

Very nice city, quiet... it's a small city where we can find anything we are looking for. People speak a bit english, it's good to lear some slovenian words. |

It may be a quiet little city but the cafe culture, pubs, restaurants and people are the friendlist and nicest people that ive met so far! |

Ljubljana is a pretty city, with many nice restaurants/bars but doesn't take too long to see. It has the advantage of excellent transport links with the rest of the country. Do yourself a favour and travel outside the city to Piran, Lake Bled or Lake Bohing (this place is majical). The locals are also pretty good at English |

A mini Prague, wondeful at night and everyone is extremely friendly and speak great english. |

After arriving from expensive and crowded Western Europe, Ljubljana is a breath of fresh air, and in a way, quite literally! It's a quieter place and you can get everywhere on foot, even up the steep hill to the castle. Everyone here is quite shy and they tend to keep to themselves. I think they are not very used to tourists. This is further exemplified when you try to speak to them in a foreign language, i.e. English. But in the end, it is relatively easy to buy or order things here. You should really try food here, some things are quite interesting like their version of French food, some turned out (I thought) better than some of the French places I've been to whilst others where, err... interesting! Come for a day or two, any longer then I recommend side trips to Bled or something. |

Ljubljana has everything you need to amuse yourself. Beautiful landscapes and beautiful city.
Partying is easy if you know the places. |

excellent city, great time there. take time to visit the karst region also, and lakes in the north west area |

The weather was horrible but if what you expect in a trip in Winter.
I love the city, it is not very big so you can walk in town centre. People are very friendly and everybody speak English. There are good and cheap restaurants and as student city it has a lot places to party.Definetely I will come back. |

Theres really not much to see compared to other hot destinations like London, Paris or Dublin. Major attractions are within walking distance. People in Ljubljana are very nice. I was soon offered help on a few occassions, simply standing looking at my map for a few seconds. Didnt stay long enough to have any Partying/Activities there, but I have to rate them anyway. Do check out their markets, I just love them. |

The city is on its way up as an attraction. It is small but is so youthful and has a great subculture. Its an exciting place to be in for its size. |

Definitely more of a summer destination, though travelling in winter means a rare chance to experience a european capital city devoid of the tourist mobs.
The food, though somewhat meaty, is fantastic and cheap. |

Ljubljana is a great base to explore all that Slovenia has to offer, and this is definitely one of the best kept secrets of Central Europe. Really enjoyed my trip there. |

A place to relax and enjoy, to party and explore. Nice people, very helpful. Reasonable prices. Clean, natural, very green enviroment A wide range of variety to see in such a small country. |

This was the surprise hit of the trip. Absolutely pristinely clean, Champs-Elysee-esque cafes along the willow-lined river, charming bridges, amazing food, not to mention the castle or the park. Adorable and compact, even though it's the captiol! |

Very nice city! All sights in walking distance and lots of nice cafes. Best when the sun is shining, because the streets are very lively then. Excellent food for fish lovers - but the cuisine is nothing special for vegetarians. |
Very chill city, amazing break from tourists. Rent the bikes... |

more time to see the promising rest of the country would have been best.
For the rest, I really enjoyed walking in the city and Tivoli park, seeing a few museums and having drinks. The food was also good. |

Not a lot that`s overly interesting attraction wise but it`s just such a gorgeous city to visit regardless! Im so glad we came here and would recommend it to anyone. Lots of gorgeous places to eat and drink along the river.. |

Ljubljana is a really beautiful city and the weather was great while we were there which definitely helped, but there isn't a huge amount to see and do. So it's a great city to spend a weekend in, but don't schedule in a whole week or you'll get bored. |
The city is really little for a capital, but really nice and so romantic! It also seemed to be safe and the streets are really clean. |

The weather was great all the while we were there (mid April). If you're eager to get all the way around on the city you can do it on foot, but it will take a good number of hours. The ratings online for the zoo aren't fantastic, but if it's a quiet afternoon and you like fuzzy cute baby animals then definitely go:)
The river is lovely to walk down at night and seek out the Pizzaria right down near the river and order "family" sized from the 100 choices of different pizzas! A slice is bigger than a persons head, and it's very very cheap. |

Ljubljana is one of those places then when you've visited you appreciate how beautfiul it is and is even better without hoards of tourists. Plenty to see and easy to walk around the sites as the city is so small. Many cafes and make sure you visit the old town and eat and drink by the river. Superb |

Ljubljana is pretty small - but it's exactly its size that makes the city so special! You can do everything on foot, which is especially nice because the best sight is the footwalk along the river.
Check out the castle, the view is magnificient!
Also, a day's trip to Piran is worth while: nice medieval town at the seaside - the coastline is a little touristic though and there are no sandy beaches there. Watch out, sometimes busses don't run as scheduled...
Anyway, Ljubljana is definitely worth a trip! However, I guess you can see everything in a weekend - unless you want to do some in-depth cultural exchange... |

What a great country!!!! |

We trained it to Slovenia's capitol Ljubljana from Venice for we were going doing an adventure tour in their alps.
That was one of the best days we could have done. We got to do white-water rafting for my first time as part of it. Class!
Our guide's name was Rok and he made it one of the highlights of my travelling so far!
Eoin and myself then hit the city to see the night-life and we were impressed even though it was a tuesday night. Cant beat 2 euro pints! And the hot slovenian bar-lady Lara.
Checked out the city as well the following day and really impressive (hotties everywhere) and so cheap compared to home (or venice) |

Slovenia is very convenience. Getting around the country isn't takr you too long. |
Not a party city, a good place to chill out for a couple of day's! |
Lots of fun...you should take day trips out to Bled because I heard it\'s amazing |
Ljubljana is the best place to go in Europe! Things are cheap and cheerful and you are very well served! Beautiful place, plus you can always roam about the countryside which is wonderful (check out Lake Bled, let alone the Alps and everything else). I would highly recommend you to go there for a few days. :D |

The Fluxus hostel is a neat cosy place, all dressed up in Ikea with friendly staff. Unfortunately you won\'t close one single eye at night, because the two big rooms are through-rooms and the door won\'t break a single sonic wave. Moreover there is one toilet for 16 people and one shower for 14. Hot water will work occasionally. So better bring your sleeping pills and deodorant.
Sorry, I have to post this since nothing of these inconveniences are stated in your ads! |

Ljubljana was very beautiful, even though it rained a bit during our stay. The walk along the river is lovely and very cosmopolitan of a warm evening. The pizza at Ljubljanski Dvor was very nice, and Sokol, traditional Eastern European food, wasn`t too bad either.
