Book this hotel when you are a couple or a small family! Very romantic setting and view, good restaurant nearby and close to the highway.

The view from my room was fantastic! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was OK. It was very quiet and peaceful, and I wasn't seeking a 'fun' place to stay, so this hotel fit my bill. I would definitely stay there again.

The bathroom smelled moldy, the views were beautiful and the breakfast was nice. A good ways out of Ljubjana. I would recommend trying to find a place in the city if that is where you'll be most of the time.

The hotel is situated in a lovely place. You can see mountains all around and there is also a very good restaurant in the nearby!!! If you want to relax and forget the noisy cities this is a very good solution.

If you are looking for a quiet place close to Ljubljana...well, this is it!! In a little town, mountains around, silence...perfect to relax!!Rooms clean, cheap and friendly staff. Also great value restaurant!!!

Excellent hotel - beautiful scenery and incredibly helpful staff. Only problem is it's middle of nowhere so extra costs due to taxi's. Would be better to have car if staying. Also service in restaurant can be pretty slow. Recommended though!

it is actually a really long taxi ride to this hotel from the center of town. Its not worth the long trip out there. Most of the staff was friendly, but one man was mean. The pool was MIA and there was a creepy atmosphere. I suggest staying much closer to Ljubliana. The only thing good was the view.

It's a nice hotel in a very picturesque part of Slovenia. I gave them an "average" grade for character because it said in the preview that it was only 20 minutes from Ljubljana. Maybe it is 20 minutes to the outermost city border but it is more like 30-35 minutes to the city center.... more It's a nice hotel in a very picturesque part of Slovenia. PERFECT SETTING IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH BUSES THAT RUN TO THE CITY SO YOU DON'T NEED TRANSPORT ALTHOUGH IT MAYBE BETTER IF YOU DID. REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL STAFF. WILL VISIT AGAIN.

On the Hotel Details it says that it is only 20mins from Ljubljana, at what speed? its at least 35mins! If you go for a triple room like we did, don't expect 3 beds, 2 of us had to share a double, with single duvets! If you want red wine with your meal, order it an hour or so before you eat, then put it near a radiator, as they chill their red wine!!!! Apart from those problems, the hotel is set in a lovely surroundings, its 5 mins to the motorway (you can't hear it). Its clean, and staff are friendly. Excellent food!! If you stay there they have a set menu or a full menu, if you got for the set menu, which are still excellent, it'll cost you 1500 SIT each. thats about £5 (GBP). If you have a car this place is great for you, but otherwise stay in the city. UPDATE: The hotel does not have a swimming pool as stated. you get a discount at the local spa!close

The hostel was clean but very basic and the location was very beautiful with stunning views, although due to it's remoteness when the weather is poor there is not much to do unless you have access to a car. I would recommend this place for a peaceful getaway!

It's important to realize that the Hotel Trojane is about a 25 minute drive from Ljubljana so having a car is a must. It's also closer to a hotel than a hostel so it was very quiet. Slept well in the comfortable beds and the bathroom was clean. We had an amaying view from our room!close

The hostel is set in a beautiful location and the staff are very hospitable. The only problem we found, due to location, was if the weather is bad and you don't have transport, then there is little to do. The local spa was also closed as it was being renovated.

I remember a previous comment about "slovenian language only staff". This is only partly true. Most of them spoke Slovenian, English, German, Italian, Spanish....at least the most important words. After showing Hostelworld.com booking confirmation printout (stating "All Taxes included") everything was fine. No problems at all. Good food in the restaurant. The rooms look like back in the 70s (including characteristic lamps) but the view was really great. I think every room has got a balcony to enjoy it. UPDATE: Just watched the comments again. There you'll find the regulations about the local tax (small fee for each person).close

In case you're just passing by and do not actually aim to Ljubljana, this one is a very good option. The view is nice and the breakfast is huge!

We really enjoyed our short stay thank you. The only complaints that we had were that the hot breakfast buffet was finished by 09h00 and many guests including ourselves had to do without. The checkout was understaffed. The view was beautiful and we would like to return again next year on route to...

In the context of rural Slovenia, 1 year into EU membership, this is a gem of a low-budget hotel. Fantastic views, friendly staff - and clean/comfortable, though far from slick. Pretty good breakfast too. We enjoyed it!

Very friendly and servicial people , the hotel is easy to find ,very quiet and silent ,nice hotel. The only bad thing no body speak any foreingner language, they need one person speak minimum english.
